JOB PURPOSE:

Provide specialized technical support to ensure that electrical and mechanical failures on busses will be repaired in the fastest time possible in accordance to OEM specifications/guidelines to ensure the honouring of the agreements with Customers.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Specify the output required from the job. Identify not more than 7 Key Accountabilities & their performance indicators. NB-Focus on outcomes not tasks

 

Description of the Accountability:

Standardization and implementation of process(checklists) to be followed by technicians in workshop/depot during attending to buses.

Solving of unresolved product related issues and sharing collected information with all involved internally (FAMCO) and externally (Volvo and other Suppliers).

Responsible for identifying campaigns and ensuring execution according to OEM’s specifications before expiring date.

Quality assure inspection of buses before delivery.

Address tools and special tools for technicians for improving technician efficiency and workshop productivity.

To be in direct contact with OEMs on technical issues using their preferred procedures and systems that includes Argus cases for Volvo Busses.

Assist Technical staff with diagnostics at all FAMCO dealers, RTA Depots and Road Side Assistances in person or telephonically.

 

JOB CONTEXT: Define organizational policy and other factors that have a critical impact on the job

  • Stringent requirement from customers for vehicle/bus uptime – possibility of penalties in case of delay in repairs of buses under contract
  • Extending 24X7 service support to customers.
  • Emergency support in case of breakdowns 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Basic / Technical Education and or Apprenticeship.
  • Trade Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical / Automobile Eng.
  • Must show proven technical expertise in independently servicing, repairs and component overhauls
  • BKT (Bus Key Technician) Certification from Volvo Bus Corporation will be an advantage

 

Minimum Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience on Volvo buses.
  • UAE driving License is an advantage.
  • High level of Electrical and Mechanical diagnostic exposure.
  • Report writing and communication using Microsoft office applications.

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Good verbal and written communicator in English; Arabic an advantage.
