Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Director Learning & Talent Management provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure our workforce has the knowledge, skills and abilities required to deliver on our organizational strategy. This role is responsible for effectively managing and improving existing talent management and learning programs, translating business and people priorities into data informed learning and development strategies/plans, and leading the development of new programs, practices and processes to build the management and leadership capabilities of Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air employees. The Director applies thought leadership, business acumen, and creativity to design and implement world-class, sustainable and impactful programs which feed the company's culture and talent base and deliver on the strategic priorities of the organization. Scope & Complexity This leadership role develops and implements Alaska and Horizon's learning and talent management strategy. This includes leading company-wide programs, initiatives and processes that reach all employees and drive alignment, assessment, and development across all levels of the organization up to executives. Key Duties - Sets the organization-wide strategy for learning and talent management in consultation with executive leadership. - Fosters effective relationships with key stakeholders including HR Leadership, HR Business Partners, Diversity & Inclusion and business unit leaders to shape and inform the design and development of programs. - Establish strategic goals and direction for the Learning Development & Delivery team, supporting the establishment of a Leadership Academy including the creation and delivery of learning experiences and learning journeys (comprised of formal, on-the-job, virtual and classroom learning, tools, resources, action learning, mentoring, coaching, assessment, etc.). - Owns the strategic positioning, usage and center of excellence for the Learning Management System (LMS). - Makes certain leadership development programs and delivery modalities are benchmarked and continuously improved against best practices and trends. - Oversees and supports our talent management strategy including the identification and management of high potential and emerging talent to ensure a well-qualified and diverse talent pool for key positions, including Performance Management, Competency Management, Talent Review, Succession Planning and Internal Mobility programs. - Ensures best practices are used in the assessment, design, development and implementation of an integrated competency-based talent management strategy that incorporates the entire leadership development lifecycle. - Drives continuous review and improvement of solutions, processes, and resources in support of and aligned with our business strategy, leadership principles, competencies, and culture (values and purpose). - Oversees and supports the design and implementation of leadership accelerator programs. - Owns the development and execution of a measurement strategy to evaluate the effectiveness of our learning and talent management programs and the ROI on solutions to ensure alignment of solutions with business goals. - Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on fostering strategic and systems thinking, development of talent, and succession planning across teams and discipline. - Shape culture of the team through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors Job-Specific Skills, Experience & Education Required - 8 years of leadership development and talent management experience. - 5 years of leadership experience, with at least 2 of those years directly leading people. - Bachelor's degree with a focus in instructional design, educational technology, organization design, talent management, organizational psychology, human resources, or related discipline, or an additional two years of experience in lieu of this degree. - Proven ability to effectively collaborate, influence and build trusted partnerships at all levels up to executives with evidence of driving alignment across teams to achieve shared outcomes. - Demonstrated ability to think conceptually, develop strategies and drive execution to achieve outcomes in the best interest of the company. - Ability to work in an agile and iterative way in a fast paced and collaborative environment. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - MBA or Master of Science in organizational development or a related discipline. - Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR) certificate. - Certified Change Management Professional. - Organizational Development Certified Consultant. - Knowledge and application of adult learning theory, behavioral science and the neuroscience of learning.
