JOB PURPOSE:

 

    To prepare Mechanical Job Orders for Commercial Vehicle repairs authorised by the Maintenance department. 
    To manage the Commercial Mechanical maintenance & repair of the Hertz fleet ensuring most cost effective method of repairs. 
    To record and advice management of poor service levels given suppliers that is detrimental to the level service Hertz provide to its customers. 
    To ensure that the repairs are done according to the expectations of customer at first time (F1) itself.
    To reduce the repeat repairs on the vehicles by strictly following the processes thereby enhancing the customer service values.   
    To support the Breakdown Assistance controller by ensuring regular stock and supply of warranty batteries for Roadside Assistance and recommend On-Site solutions for Heavy Commercial Breakdowns with vendor support.

 

Job Description :


    To monitor and control vehicle down time of the fleet within the maintenance cycle ensuring this is kept to a minimum reducing the cost of replacement vehicles while ensuring that vendors are meeting agreed TAT for Service/Mechanical Repairs.   
    To ensure that all estimates for mechanical repairs are evaluated against concerns reported and classified as “Need to Do” / Preventive Maintenance prior to approving repairs while adhering to Vehicle repair criteria with regards to warranty/ Sale/Contract expiry.    
    Ensure that the queries of the fellow departments are replied at the earliest in order to inform them for proactively providing update/feedback to the customers.    
    To ensure that mechanical vehicles in the Maintenance process are tracked on a daily basis and ETA for vehicle delivery is shared through daily report of WIP vehicles.    
    To reduce the repeat repairs on the vehicles by strictly following the processes thereby enhancing the customer service values.     
    To ensure that Work orders are issued to vendors within the agreed SLA for mechanical jobs done.    

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: 

 

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge: 
-    Work requires good verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and interact at all levels. 
-    Graduate/Diploma holder in Automobile Engineering with minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical work in Automotive Industry specializing in Heavy Commercial Vehicles and Commercial Vehicles with specialized fitments
-    Minimum Experience: 
-    5 years’ experience in a Commercial Vehicle Repair industry  atmosphere will be an advantage.
