Job Description:
- Leads the implementation and delivery of strategic consumer and corporate communications across Egypt and North Africa
- Drafts and delivers a strategic plan for Hotel PR for the region working to create and implement PR within budget guidelines and targets. Provides Egypt and North Africa market specific inputs to MEA Corporate PR planning.
- Devise and propose fresh and current consumer campaigns and initiatives in line with budget; owns brand communications in Egypt and North Africa and drives implementation locally of corporate initiatives and campaigns
- Ensures effective PR strategies are in place, with a focus on driving positive media coverage for Hilton as a company, its hotels and brands, advancing the reputation of the Area Vice President for Egypt & North Africa, the MENA Development team as well as key general managers, and building media relations to keep ahead of the news agenda.
- Responsible for enforcing key performance indicators relating to al PR activities, campaigns etc and producing performance reports to share with key stakeholders
- Leads hotel opening and signing support, template and guidelines for new hotels in Egypt and North Africa
- Full responsibility for all media relations activities throughout the hotels, ensuring all media and press kits are up to date, media visits and fam trips are relevant and executed appropriately. Absolute oversight of media-facing content and events driven by hotels
- Lead the hotel PR teams in identifying PR opportunities using competitive environment analysis, topical news and consumer trends. Keeps stakeholders within the business informed of important announcements and coverage impacting the business at corporate level, including from government and industry bodies.
- Owns the PR agency relationship at hotel and where relevant at country level, ensuring the agency is meeting all targets and hitting KPIs
- Plays a key role on the crisis communications team managing on-property and corporate issues, keeping the regional communications team informed at all stages
- Supports the MEA&T consumer team to oversee and develop effective, strong on-property team members across Egypt and North Africa
- Participate in key commercial focus meetings, proactively flagging PR opportunities to regional team
- Works alongside the regional communications teams to ensure alignment
- Take an active role in crisis and issues management, including supporting with statement development and counsel for EMEA hotels.
- Develop close working relationships with key travel media/influencer contacts and continue to grow the in-house ownership of media relations within the MEA office
- Establish consistent measurement and reporting across Egypt and North Africa, ensuring that the team’s results are shared with the business in the most relevant and impactful way and laddering up to the broader MEA results
- Provide consultancy for on-property PR contacts and lead on the development of a bank of tools and resources to provide ongoing communications training for hotel-level communicators
Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
Relevant Experience:
Previous experience in a Regional role
Technical Knowledge/ Skills/ Training required:
- Significant experience within this field
- Must be available and flexible to travel 15 – 20% of your time
- Fluency in Arabic and English
