Role Summary

The post holder is responsible for various accounting functions within the International Accounting Group.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • To ensure claims/invoices/payments are processed accurately and timely
  • To work with vendors, customers, and colleagues to resolve inquiries and issues
  • To review and process employee expense reports
  • To file VAT/Tax returns
  • To maintain compliance with accounting/auditing policies and procedures and local laws and regulations
  • To perform account reconciliations, resolving open items and creating applicable journal entries
  • To create applicable journal entries where necessary
  • To assist in Auto TA or payroll if required
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the post

General

  • To take reasonable care of the health and safety of self, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by his/her acts or omissions.  To co-operate with AA as far as is necessary to enable AA to comply with all relevant statutory provisions. To immediately report serious risks or concerns over safety issues
  • To comply with the AA Rules of Conduct Europe & Pacific and work within the context of all Company’s policies & procedures
  • To maintain a standard of dress code that is appropriate to the role and in accordance with the Company’s uniform/dress policy

Person Specification

Essential

  • University degree with a focus in accounting or equivalent education/training
  • Additional European language skill namely German or French
  • Experience working in an accounting environment
  • Good understanding of accounting processes
  • Proficient with PC and Microsoft Office software (e.g., Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint)
  • Self-motivated with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work flexible hours when required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good team player

Desirable

  • Knowledge of automated accounting systems such as SAP is an advantage.
  • Accounting certification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA…)
