About the Role
The VM Manager is expected to elevate VM standards across Own Retail & Distribution across the MENA region. Advocate global brand standards across all doors. Oversee all field VM activity within the market, ensuring a holistic & consistent approach to implementation. Identify opportunities to enhance the customer journey & create engaging customer experiences with commercial acumen.
MARKET
- Works cross functionally with buying, retail planning, marketing, operations & finance teams to conceptualise & deliver excellent standards across all areas of Visual Merchandising. Namely: store layouts, fixture layouts, product placement & VM displays.
- Able to analyse VM guidelines, decipher trends & propose market relevant solutions which are in keeping with brand direction.
- Establishes, cascades & measures the effectiveness of VM tools & sound VM processes across the territory.
- Develops & trains VM team to implement & uphold excellent VM standards across the region by championing the VM best practice.
- Delivers appropriate support to distribution & own retail to ensure consistency of brand standards.
FINANCIAL
- Drives efficiencies across all processes and resource management.
- Ensures VM team have sound commercial reasoning for decision making & monitors & measures VM activity effect on store performance.
- Regularly reviews and analyses sales figures to identify opportunities to develop and drive sales performance across the division through all aspects of Visual Merchandising e.g. space management, layouts, fixture placement, product placement & displays.
- Delivers VM projects from concept to completion to agreed timelines.
- Is cost aware & diligent when making VM tool proposals & investments. Follows SOPs & reviews suppliers & market rates for best value of services & VM tools.
PEOPLE
- Communicates effectively and engages team through different communication vehicles e.g. team briefs, management meetings and conference calls
- Takes time to ensure the team understand their accountabilities and how they contribute to the divisions performance.
- Conducts VM training workshops.
- Provides regular feedback to direct reports and recognises individuals who perform well in their role & takes appropriate action to deal with poor performance in a timely manner
- Identifies & develops talent through training workshops, stretching IDPs, sets clear direction, coaches existing teams to achieve visual excellence with a succession plan.
- Builds a strong working relationship & collaborates with all functions within the division.
ROLE BASED
- Takes ownership for own development, seeks opportunities to grow & expand business knowledge.
- Is a Sports & Lifestyle advocate. Actively participates in sports activities.
- Is an Al Futtaim advocate Implements company HR policies fairly and consistently across the VM team to drive improvements
- Takes accountability for self & driving tasks from concept to completion.
About You
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
- Relevant qualification in Visual Merchandising, Fine Arts, Architecture or business & management, marketing or similar discipline.
- Strong understanding of trends and how to reflect those into visual merchandising elements
- Planning and coordination
- Strong communication and visual presentation skills
- Can work with and interpret store drawings, layouts, proportionality and space
- Ability to inspire and drive standards in the VM team
- Able to communicate clearly and compassionately with the team and other areas of the business
- Project Management Skills
Minimum Experience:
- +8 years Visual Management Experience in apparel or sports retail
