About The Job

This job is a member of the Supply Chain Team within the Integrated Operations Division. This position will be responsible for using data and analytic tools to monitor and track supply chain processes and optimize performance; analyzes improvement opportunities and recommends improvements and/or changes to existing processes.

 

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

  • Studies airline business processes and recommends system rules
  • Identifies opportunities to implement automation and exception based management
  • Monitors and tracks performance of the supply chain processes and impact to American's operations
  • Uses Alteryx, Tableau, Access, Excel, or other analytic tools to simulate and analyze process improvement and optimization opportunities
  • Evaluates and recommends improvements and fine tuning of existing mathematical and logical models used to optimize spare parts for airline maintenance
  • Presents findings and makes recommendations
  • Works with and provides direction to industry consultants, Operations Research Analysts and IT professional
  • Performs time sensitive analysis for senior leadership of supply chain
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • 3 years job related experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • A potential team leader with strong communication skills
  • Understanding of supply chain concepts, with work or internship experience applying those concepts
  • Self-directed and resourceful with the ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks with exhibited follow through and initiative
  • Understanding and use of technical tools for analysis, problem solving, forecasting and quality improvement
  • Must be able to logically structure analyses of complex issues and develops solutions to business problems and challenges
  • High ethical standards

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master's Degree with a concentration in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Operations Research
  • Experience with cost analysis, root cause, and forecasting methods (Poisson, Normal Distribution, Moving Average)
  • Experience using Alteryx, Tableau and/or SQL
  • JAVA and C# programming experience
