Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Division Communications Manager supports the front line employees by creating and implementing internal communications plans that support the division as a customer service leader. This Manager has responsibility for communications planning and execution to inform and engage employees, including partnering with other communicators, other divisions, union leadership, and senior leadership to develop recommendations and determine strategic alignment. Scope & Complexity This individual contributor role manages communications for the front line division for Alaska Airlines (AS). Key Duties - Develops and executes internal communication plans and tools that consider all stakeholders and are aligned with corporate and division priorities, messaging and business objectives. - Works closely with senior leadership in developing communications plans to support operational priorities and key initiative communications; including, but not limited to program/initiative roll-outs/launches, change management, etc., ensuring stakeholders have a shared understanding of requirements and how they will be implemented. - Provides thought leadership, counsel and support for employee communications in support of division leadership, with a focus on employee engagement and execution. - Develops effective communications on wide-ranging topics that convey consistent key company messages. - Outlines and implements a strategy for more effective, two-way, timely communication. - Works with Director of Frontline Communications to define and measure key performance metrics. Analyze data and develop recommendations based on findings. - Composes, edits, and manages the production of a full range of material to effectively support the advancement of the divisions key initiatives and goals; including, but not limited to division stories, manager talking points and FAQs, intranet content, town halls, focus groups, newsletters, scripts, speeches, etc. - Incorporates innovative communications solutions and identifies new ways to effectively reach employees. - Partners effectively with Corporate Communications and Division Communications peers and contributes to cross-divisional and enterprise-wide planning and execution of internal communications. Performs other duties as assigned. Job-Specific Skills & Education Required - A minimum of 5 years of experience working in corporate communications, agency or newsroom environment. - A minimum of 4 years of professional writing experience. - Excellent oral and written communication skills including producing executive level presentations and communication materials. - Experience with cross-functional project management (planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives). - Must have a passion for communication improvements demonstrated in previous roles. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). - Strong presentation/facilitation skills within small or large group settings. - Must have demonstrated skills in effective communication to all levels within an operations organization. - Ability to achieve desired results through personal accountability and partnerships with other groups with no direct reporting relationship to position. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in business or communication. - Experience driving process and communication improvements in an organization of similar scope and size. - Knowledge of Adobe products, including website development. - Strong and demonstrated understanding of change management.
