Job Title:                          Creative Director - Entertainment

Reports to:                      General Manager - Entertainment

Department:                   Mall Management

Location:                          Dubai Festival City Mall (DFCM), Dubai UAE

 

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for developing, executing and managing the content creation for the ‘Imagine’ branded show.  These include; Special Events, Seasonal Events, Sponsorship activities and Permanent shows.

Collaborating with the General Manager Entertainment to continually devise new and innovative shows. A true innovator who challenges the norm and implements strategies to maximize entertainment potential whilst raising the Imagine brand to facilitate year on year retail growth.  Responsible for the delivery of excellent customer experiences whilst positioning ourselves as one of the market leaders in mall entertainment.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Creative Development:

  • Designs new multimedia shows and special events
  • Develops creative elements for multimedia shows, live, special events and firework shows
  • Produces concept story boards 
  • Manages and delivers presentations for senior leadership, internal and external clients
  • Project leader, interpreting client messages and vision, outlining concepts and capturing them into delivering world class creative shows
  • Executes creative elements for multimedia, live, special events and fireworks shows
  • Engages with music studios to produce show and event music scores

Live and Special Events

  • Creates show flows and scripts
  • Works with talent agencies to audition and select talent
  • Directs and choreographs performers during rehearsals and onsite technical /dress rehearsals  

Production

  • Directs creative elements of all productions
  • Co-ordinates and directs programming
  • Determines technical requirements of production

 

Coordination:

  • Co-ordination and direction of all creative elements
  • Liaises with operations and technical team on show programming
  • Manage stakeholders including clients, marketing, mall team and senior management as required 
  • Coordinates with producer, crew and talent for events and productions
  • Coordinates with external suppliers and contractors (in particular fireworks)

Reporting:

  • Prepare routine and ad hoc progress reports for creative development of projects and shows
  • Pitch show and event concepts to the entertainment and senior management team
  • Prepare creative presentations and storyboards for stakeholders

 

JOB CONTEXT:

The role is required to contribute to the provision of a quality entertainment experience in a professional and efficient manner, which will reflect the company’s reputation in the shopping centre industry.  Serve as a member of the Entertainment Senior Management team and contribute to the development of new concepts and shows.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • University Graduate or trade school Diploma  
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

Minimum Experience:

  • 10 years live entertainment experience
