Role Purpose
To lead the strategic sourcing team for non-principal spend in UAE and to support overseas operations on key spend categories to maximize the group savings
Direct Reports: 8
Indirect Reports: 18
Target - Deliver a minimum saving of AED 80mn annually adding directly to the bottom line and manage a spend of over AED 2bn.
Key Accountabilities
-Savings
- Increase the Spend Under Management by negotiating more contracts every year.
- Devise and implement the best sourcing strategy (offline or online) to effectively deliver the best savings to the business
- Lead the team of Category Specialists to prepare and execute annual category plans for their respective spend categories
- Proactively work with business to identify sourcing projects and build an active pipeline by getting involved at budgeting stage
- Identify and include new categories of spend that were previously unaddressed or were managed by other departments and were not included under the scope of Group Procurement
- Value of sourcing projects undertaken by the team annually.
- Number of sourcing projects executed
- Identified savings (AED and %)
- Quality of Category Plans and implementation of the same
- Value of active pipeline of sourcing projects
- New companies/categories added e.g. spend for schools, healthcare etc.
-Efficiency and Compliance
- Deliver the products/service to the customers as per their quality requirements within the stipulated time
- Processing of tenders/PR’s as per the agreed SLA’s
- Ensure equitable work distribution among sourcing team members
- Ensure that the sourcing team adheres to and enforces the policy and SOP’s
- Timely completion of sourcing projects as per customer requirements
- Number of instances of delays as per the SLA
- Instances of overloading or idle time
- Number of violations identified by compliance team or group audit
-Capability Development
- Identify the skills gap in the sourcing team and work with Learning and Development team to deliver a training program encompassing on the job and classroom trainings
- Build a team of category specialists who have an indepth understanding of their respective supply bases, industry dynamics, cost structure, trends etc.
- Number of training programs conducted
- Participation in industry forums, seminars etc.
- Time spent by each team member in the market interacting with suppliers
- Customer Relationship
- Stakeholder management with all business heads
- Working with cross functional tender teams to ensure equitable representation and participation of all stakeholders in sourcing projects
- Ensuring timely and regular communication with all stakeholders to keep them updated on progress, including savings delivered, projects in pipeline, spend under management etc.
- Customer satisfaction based on annual survey
- Number of face to face interactions with key stakeholders
- Number and accuracy or regular reports delivered to stakeholders
-Supplier Relationship
- Identifying qualified suppliers and managing the entire process from soliciting bids, reviewing, negotiating, selecting and awarding contracts.
- Spend time with key suppliers to identify areas of collaboration beyond price negotiations e.g. demand management, value engineering, supply chain financing
- Number of new vendors introduced
- Savings identified through non price negotiations i.e. through value engineering, demand optimization etc. in collaboration with suppliers
-Managing Complexity
- Build flexibility in the sourcing process to adapt to the unique requirements of individual divisions (Auto, Retail, Real Estate, Engg., Healthcare) without compromising on the integrity and the governance of the group procurement policy
- Train the sourcing specialists to fully understand the special requirements of each vertical
- Minimize the use of Special Request Forms that are used for single sourcing

Key Candidate Experience
- SAP (SRM) system is a must
- Negotiation Skills

- Degree in Procurement / Supply Chain
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
- 10+ years of experience in Procurement in multinational Organizations
- SAP (MM & SRM) Knowledge
- Degree in Procurement / Supply Chain
- Experience of leading high performing teams of procurement specialists
- Proven History of accomplishments
- Behavioral Competencies: Strong Interpersonal Skills, Team player, Customer Expectation Management
