Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Senior Network Planning Analyst conducts economic evaluations of the Alaska Airlines network, including current and future frequency levels, markets, aircraft gauge, and cities and determines operational feasibility by finding schedule change solutions. This role is a key part of producing the 18 month operating statistics that feeds operational planning teams across Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. Scope & Complexity This individual contributor role conducts network planning analysis for Alaska Airlines. This role manages the route forecasting model to ensure that it is calibrated for maximum accuracy. Key Duties - Conducts economic evaluations of the Alaska Airlines network, including current and future frequency levels, markets, aircraft gauge, and cities. - Provides recommendations to optimize network revenue and profitability performance. - Participates in producing accurate forecasts of operational and financial metrics such as revenue, costs, block hours, departures, RONs, etc. in order to aid operational groups in planning in the 18 month time horizon. - Finds schedule solutions to desired capacity changes - Liaises with scheduling group to ensure changes are correctly implemented in the schedule - Performs in-depth competitive analytics and recommends actionable strategies to ensure Alaska's continued success. - Evaluates the network benefit of current and potential code share relationships. - Manages the route forecasting model to ensure that it is calibrated for maximum accuracy. - Develops more effective ways of accessing and disseminating performance data. - Provides ad-hoc analysis and input in support of commercial planning decisions, company presentations, internal/external communications etc. Job-Specific Skills, Experience and Education Required - A minimum of 3 years in an analytical discipline. - A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree, with a focus in business administration, economics, statistics, engineering, mathematics, accounting, finance, or a related discipline. - An equivalent combination of training, experience, and education will be considered in lieu of required experience and/or degree. - Knowledge of airline fundamentals and economics. - Knowledge of modeling/forecasting methodology and systems. - Proven analytical skills and understanding of analytical processes. - Detail-driven, with ability to understand the overriding goals. - Ability to work well with others as part of a team. - A self-starter who is able to set priorities consistent with departmental goals and work independently. - Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to work and communicate to all levels of the company, including senior executives. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - 2 years of airline planning experience. - Strategic scenario development and opportunity cost analysis experience. - Knowledge of statistics and financial fundamentals. - A Master of Arts/Science degree or a Master of Business Administration degree.
