The Sales Manager - Elevators will be responsible to create the lead and improve efficiency in new project sales. Showcasing our brands & products to clients, timely submission of quotations, attending technical meetings, technical & commercial negotiation and close the sale. Establishing new, and maintaining existing, relationships with customers. Additionally, to stay updated on the market situation, demand, competition and emerging new trends.
This role will work in close alignment with the Principals’ as well as the Al Futtaim Engineering Elevator department’s sales strategy, the incumbent acts as the primary point of contact between the company and its existing and potential customers. Both the company and the principals’ strategy for the market is critically dependant on market information including market demand, price levels, and competitors’ strategies. Timely follow up of inquiries, submission of quotations, attending technical meetings, technical & commercial negotiation in line with the department’s policies and procedures are critical factors in this role.
Sales
- Understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support.
- Preparation/submission of quotation and negotiation with customers.
- Understand the decision-making process and identifying key decision makers for the inquiry.
- Strengthen brand image and prequalify brands with industry consultants.
Technical Coordination
- Confer with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine client requirements.
- Coordination with Estimation Dept. and advising relevant critical information about the project inquiry.
- Submission/approval of shop drawings/ technical submittals.
Customer Relations
- Maintain a strong working relationship with the Principals, key consultants, developers and contractors within the construction industry.
- Proactively managing customer requirements for delivery taking into account factors such as manufacturing lead-times, product specification changes etc.
- Prepare and showcasing the product presentations, attending client meetings and participation in exhibitions etc.
Product & Market Study
- Develop an excellent understanding of the strengths and weakness of the products handled by the division to ensure the right products are supplied to customers.
- Stay abreast with latest regulations, standards and good working practices within the industry in relation to Elevators and Escalators.
Periodic Reports
- Collection and analysis of data about market demand, competitor’s strategies, market share and developing market trends.
- Perform analysis for secured and lost projects and submit a quarterly report about lessons learnt and recommendations for increasing sales.
- Maintain an updated list of inquiries and current status and prepare a monthly report in online tool and retrieve necessary management reports.
The Sales Manager - Elevatiors will report to the Divsional M
anager - elevators, however, channels exists for direct communication with the Managing Director and other member from the senior leadership team at weekly meetings or as and when required.
To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Masters in Business Administration is an asset. Minimum of 15+ years proven progressive business development, sales, experience in the similar industry with reputed elevator brand (GCC experience is mandatory). Experience selling technical products. A focus on embedded products is a plus.
Highly organised and self-motivated person who can efficiently and effectively manage a wide range of tasks and objectives. Excellent verbal communication skills in order to deliver persuasive and effective presentations, sales pitches, networking, negotiations, internal communications and relationship management. Should have won business through developing client relationships centred on solutions that deliver business excellence to both client and principals. Strong track record in a service industry operating at management level, where client relationships are essential. Has good networks within the Elevators / Escalators industry including competitors, clients and principals. Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at levels. Budget and costing skills.
Experience with SalesForce.com (C4C). ERP / SAP knowledge will be added advantage. Advanced user of MS Office. Knowledge in UAE laws and regulations. Ability to identify the training needs of team members, coach and guide team for better employee engagement. Ability to understand and work with commercial requirements like plan cost, budgets limits, profit and loss. Willing to continuously upgrade on current industry standards, best practices.
The Sales Manager - Elevators will have to demonstrate excellent leadership qualities, be customer focused and be able to handle multiple and often conflicting priorities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Sound communication and articulation skills. A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards in a diverse workplace. Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization. Strong business acumen & negotiation skills. It is essential the incumbent should have excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style. Excels at operating in a fast pace, community environment. Have the ability to look at situations from several points of view. Delegate responsibilities effectively. Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and problem simulation. Should have a high comfort level working in a diverse environment. Open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done. Manage cross-functional relationships effectively. Strong verbal and writing skills, with regards to contractual communication. People management skills & problem solving skills. Excellent managerial & administrative skills however at the same time hands on with day to day business operations. Detail oriented and good reporting skills. Establish clear lines of communication both internally & externally. Strong commercial expertise in driving business results.
