- This job is a member of the Communications Team within the Communications Division.
- Responsible for crafting American Airlines messaging, both internally and externally, to tell American Airlines story specific to our values of diversity, equity and inclusion, helping to drive our corporate strategy around these core principles.
- Creating internal communications materials and support corporate communications initiatives, including:
- Executing communications plans that further the company's vision
- Supporting media relations programs, including handling media at on-site events
- Finding, creating and sharing authentic, compelling stories of team members and operational excellence for use across internal, external and social media platforms
- Helping support and publicize community relations communications programs, with the guidance of the community relations team at headquarters
- Creating hub team member newsletter
- Drafting internal message points for team member meetings, program rollouts and senior management that help further companywide as well as more locally targeted programs
- Helping publicize other hub and corporate events, including benefits/HR programs, operations events, safety fairs, etc.
- Developing and executes communications strategies around highly volatile and fast-moving issues with tight deadlines. This includes working on real-time operational issues with American Airlines leadership
- Assisting with rapid response communications (i.e. issues resolution) throughout the airline, including creating and developing internal and external communication plans
- Leads rapid response and crisis communications in the Western U.S. Region, including creating and developing holistic mitigation plans for multiple internal and external stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training in the Communications field
