Job Title:                                         Technician – AUDIO & VIDEO Systems

Reports to:                                     Project Manager – AFET

Department:                                  Tech Infra Projects

Location:                                         Dubai, UAE

 

JOB PURPOSE

The AV Technician is responsible for the installation, modification, repair maintenance and Testing of Audio, Video and Lighting Systems. This includes the physical laying of cables, installation & terminations of devices, testing, overseeing the work of others technicians, surveying work sites, coordinating work flows, provide on the job training to other technicians as needed.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance and setting up of all Audio Video Systems as per requirement following drawings & schematics.
• Performs physical laying of cables overhead and underground.
• Installation & termination of AV& Lighting equipment, panel, field devices, etc.
• Perform Basic/first level of commissioning for AUDIO & VIDEO System.
• Assist Project engineer for testing & commissioning of complete system.
• Conduct the inspection, repair, and upgrading, planned & reactive maintenance of AUDIO & VIDEO systems.

 

JOB CONTEXT

AV Technician works under the guidance of a project engineer or project manager on installations, modification, additions, maintenance, and/or repair of AV System, associated materials and equipment on any type of project.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

• Diploma or equivalent (communication/engineering/IT).
• Proficiency in Widows Based PC environment & AutoCAD

Minimum Experience:

• 5+ years of directly related experience as an AV Technician.

Job-Specific Technical Skills:

• Hands-on experience in installation of AV Systems, including Speakers, Amplifiers, Projection system, Direct LED Displays, Video Wall, Control Systems , Autiomation System.
• Have a mechanical aptitude and demonstrate clear understanding of AUDIO & VIDEO systems installation methods and best practices.
• Knowledge of various components and sub-components of AUDIO & VIDEO System, especially Extron Crestron, AMX, BIAMP etc.
• Detailed working Knowledge and experience of Operations and Maintenance of AUDIO & VIDEO
• System
• Fault Finding & troubleshooting skills in AUDIO & VIDEO System
• General knowledge and experience of Electrical Safety Rules and procedures.
• The ability to accurately read and interpret drawings & schematics.
• Experience with other technology systems such as Structure cabling & AV a plus.
• Manufacturer technical training/certifications on AUDIO & VIDEO System a plus.
• Crestron, Extron, AMX, BOSE, BIAMP programming skills a plus.
