- This job is within the Customer Relations Team within the Customer Experience and Reservations Division.
- Responsible for reviewing legal documents involving American Airlines, our partners and subsidiaries and working with the legal team and compliance coordinators to handle court cases regarding service and/or operational issues.
What you'll do
- Investigates claim and performs research and legal analysis related to claims
- Reviews court information with regard to local and state rules of civil procedure
- Determines course of action for American Airlines
- Prepares and/or coordinates legal defense with outside counsel and/or internal representation
- Attends or directs personnel attending small claims court hearings
- Facilitates all legal correspondence and payments both prior to the hearing and as result of decree
- Records case information within Advocate
- Analyzes data and creates reports to trend performance
- Must be willing to travel for business when needed
- Negotiates attorney billing rates and manages attorney invoices
All you'll need for success
- Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
- 2 years AA Customer Relations experience
- Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Paralegal certification
- Knowledge of American Airlines Conditions of Carriage
- Knowledge of Montreal Convention/European Regulation 261/2004
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations applicable to Aviation
- Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc
- Knowledge of Sabre
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with deadlines
