About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Manager- Cards & Payments to join our Digital Payments organization

 

Role purpose

As electronic (non-cash) forms of payments are being rapidly adopted by customers across all walks of life, we as a business want to leverage payments as a potential source of differentiation in the future. We want to fully leverage the end-to-end payments lifecycle in a manner that drives greater customer centricity and at the same time drive incremental value (financial) for our business. Our goal as the payments team is to help our businesses (brands, etc) help achieve continuous improvement across a number of KPIs –

-              Increased access and spends from their customers (Existing and New Customers)

-              Improved their customer journeys by making payments frictionless

-              Enhance their engagement with customers by leveraging payment products and platforms

-              Deeper understanding of the customers

-              Increased loyalty from customers

 

The Group C&P for team is responsible for building and driving the Payments Strategy across all our core geographies in MEA and SEA. In collaboration with both the brands and corporate functions, the team focusses on - 

  • Design, build, launch and management of multiple ‘Issuing Program’ i.e. Co-Brand Credit Cards, Prepaid & Gift Card Program, Corporate Payment Solutions (B2B payments), Mobile Payment Wallets, etc
  • Management of Payment Acceptance Eco-system across both in-store and digital channels (including the modernization of the infrastructure)
  • Managing the strategic payments partners (i.e. – acquirer, schemes, issuers, PSPs, gateways, loyalty/ rewards platforms, etc)
  • Aggregation, management and analysis of the payments data in a secure and compliant manner

 

Reporting into Director – Cards & Payment for the Group, the remit of the role will focus on -

  • Responsible for the management and modernization of the payment eco-system across all payment channels – instore and/or digital. This will include working closely with the digital, IT and brand operations teams
  • Responsible to work with the wider team and business in designing, building, launching and growing proprietary payment products – Credit, Prepaid, Mobile, etc
  • Managing the performance and relationships of key payment solutions and services vendors (i.e issuers, acquirers, Fintechs, PSPs, etc)
  • Work with the wider Payments, Analytics and Marketing teams to drive our payment data strategy – including reporting, analysis, AA project, etc  
  • Work collaboratively and proactively with the team based in key geographies in order to successfully execute the payments strategies for the divisions and brands

Candidate requirements

Experience and Knowledge:

  • 7-10 years’ experience in consulting, financial services, payment services or large merchant (similar role)
  • 5+ years’ experience of launching new products and/or managing financial or payments products
  • 5+ years’ of project and programme delivery in complex organisational environments
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment for payment products in relevant geographies
  • Management of teams particularly in a matrix model and with external 3rd parties

 

Skills and Competencies (behavioural and related to AF values):

  • Strong communication, presentation and reporting skills
  • Highly numerate and skilled in analysis (market, portfolio etc)
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Programme / Project / Change Management
  • Proficient in the development and management of financial budgets
  • Track record in collaboration
