About the role:
Supports the Food & Beverage operations for monitoring quality, compliance and regulatory aspects of IKEA Al Futtaim Range. Contributes to the interactions between IKEA Al-Futtaim and government entities to ensure all products are following each countries regulation. Identifies potential risks and accountable to lead risk-based sales product safety compliance plan, ensure product safety in the value chain and secures product safety competence in the markets we operate while connected to IKEA of Sweden AB.
Key Responsibilities:
PR&C Focus
· Contribute to safeguard the IKEA brand by ensuring a high quality, safe and inspirational customer experience
· Perform the necessary step to secure that the IKEA range sold in your country complies with the Product Safety laws in your country
· Execute the correct reporting and handling of product safety and prepare the relevant documentation to ensure that the process is working as per Countries regulations and is connected to IKEA of Sweden AB
· Ensure that systems and methods stated in IKEA Concept Documentation are implemented in the Swedish Food Market & Bistro.
· Coordinate all Product Safety & Compliance issues within the retail country and when needed, support other IKEA units in the country
· Identify and escalate all Product Safety & Compliance issues within the retail country and when needed, support other IKEA units in the country
· Prepare, identify, interpret and document relevant national food product standards and regulations
· Translate standards and regulations applicable for the sales market
· Report to IKEA of Sweden any new or changed national standards and support in fulfilling legal demands
· Review and analyse test results and keep close communication with test labs
· Develop a good working relationship with national consumer authorities and be identified as the IKEA contact person in all matters relating to Food products safety and compliance on the local market
· Support with the Regional Expansion Plans whenever necessary including Commercial planning, build up and opening phases.
· Develop and maintain a network of internal and external compliance experts on the sales markets
· Identify and develop contacts in consumer organisations on the local market and promote the perception of IKEA as the “good company”
· Develop and maintain knowledge about IKEA Swedish Food Market products requirements
· Ensure that global and national compliance standards are met to secure a safe environment for customers and co-workers
· Being the expert within the retail country on Food Product Safety & Compliance issues
· Conduct regular suppliers’ visits & audits according to the business needs, to ensure suppliers compliance and products are produced according to the global food safety standards where applicable (related but not limited to internal or external audits like I-Conduct, I-Way, I-Food)
· Develop a good working relationship with IKEA of Sweden and be identified as the IKEA contact person in all matters relating to Food products safety and compliance in relation to our markets
· Coordinate with local warehousing service provider regarding import/export of any product planned to be sold in our markets
· Work closely with Regional Commercial Manager, SFM Manager & Regional Executive Chef to ensure proper calendarization and secure products are available accordingly
· Perform monthly KPIs report related to the job routines, to evaluate and continuously improve our ways of working
· Able to support the Food Function to reduce overall operating costs without impacting on levels of service to the customer and food safety standards
· Issue operational routines and controls for each store/unit to ensure compliance with the local authorities
· Create and ensure related SOPs are in place and followed by IKEA Food store team
Sustainability Focus
· Collaborate to secure sustainability is integrated across all IKEA Food market functions in delivering their sustainability contribution to the agreed frameworks and strategies.
· Contribute to secure local adaption of the global and country directions and ambitions, to deliver to the total business agenda and a more People and Planet Positive IKEA.
· Support alignment, budget and resources are in place to move the sustainability agenda within the market.
· Facilitate integration and implementation of sustainability by supporting functions with the right information, best practice solutions, tools & methods and ways of working.
· Explore and follow-up on sustainability situation in local PMA and contribute to the unit’s business agenda, provide feedback and share across sustainability matrix.
· Document and evaluate initiatives and activities with a view to capitalise on learning, sharing and promoting continuous improvement

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
· University education and long experience of product safety and compliance, testing or similar
· Fluent English & Arabic, both spoken and written
· Good knowledge of national product legislation
· Good presentation skills
· Strong analytical skills and interpretation
· Experience in Food service business
· Advanced knowledge of food production and food safety
· Must have highly developed networking skills to build relationships with local government authorities
· Attention to detail and ability to create proper documentation
