What you'll do

This job is a member of the Financial Optimization product team, within the Cargo Information Technology Division. This position is a senior technical role on a highly skilled team providing application and solution architecture services.  The role will be responsible for providing the technical development and solutions for our business partners and customers.
Specifically, you'll do the following:

  • Deliver and maintain artifacts and work products in support of the architecture review, software development and steady state operations
  • Communicate a clear technical roadmap on the optimal application of technology to products and services to various stakeholders and knows when to balance technical solutions with business needs
  • Deliver development solutions that incorporate industry and company technology standards
  • Actively participate in requirements analysis, proofs of concepts, RFI & RFP processes and solution delivery
  • Anticipate and act upon issues that arise, provides alternative approaches, optimal solution and continuously improving performance of applications
  • Develop prototypes and concepts for new technologies and ideas with the delivery team and with guidance from the lead architect
  • Create and promote patterns/techniques to foster DevOps adoption
  • Examine emerging technologies/technology practices and incorporates into architectural solution, when appropriate
  • Collaborates with leaders, business analysts, project managers, IT architects, technical leads and other developers, along with internal customers, to understand requirements and develop needs according to business requirements
  • Maintains and enhances existing enterprise services, applications, and platforms using domain driven design and test-driven development
  • Troubleshoots and debugs complex issues; identifies and implements solutions
  • Creates detailed project specifications, requirements, and estimates
  • Researches and implements new technologies to enhance current processes, security, and performance
  • Supports the development of coding standards and adhere to best practices and security guidelines
  • Implements various RPA’s as desired by the Cargo IT and BU stakeholders
     

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology , Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or rlated technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 5+ years of application systems development experience
  • 3+ years of architectural and design experience
  • Hands-on experience with cloud deployment patterns, micro-services architecture, real time analytics and big data
  • Proficient in Agile and SDLC methodologies
  • Strong technical expertise in tiered and distributed architectures, Service Oriented Architecture, Micro Service Architecture, J2EE, Spring, Messaging platforms, Relational/NoSQL Databases, Big Data, Application Servers, HTML5 frameworks, UNIX, Linux, Windows and Design Patterns, as well as relational databases, web development and object-oriented methodologies
  • Working knowledge of DevOps tool chains, Agile Methodologies, IBM BlueMix, Kubernetes and Docker Container

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • 3 years’ experience in large scaled application systems design and development
  • Proficiency and demonstrated experience in the following technologies:
    • J2EE technologies: Java
    • Database and persistence frameworks: Hibernate, Oracle, Object/Relational Mapping, Query performance tuning
    • Cloud-based development: Cloud Foundry
    • Web Servers: Tomcat, TC Server, IBM WebSphere
    • Web Services: REST/SOAP (JSON/WSDL/XML)
    • Frameworks: Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud
    • Front-end: Angular, Node,  HTML5, CSS, SCSS
    • Build/deployment tools: Maven, Gradle, Git, Junit, Mockito
    • Other Dev Ops Toolchain: Selenium, Nexus Repository, Hygieia, Sonar Qube, Fortify on Demand, Slack, GitHub, Jenkins

  • Demonstrated experience in the following:
    • Java, XML, HTML, or similar
    • Web Services, such as REST/SOAP, JSON/WSDL/XML
    • Eclipse or similar IDE
    • Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
    • Oracle – PL/SQL, DB2 SQL
    • Object Oriented Analysis, Design Patterns, and Frameworks
  • Experience with DevOps Toolchain methodologies, including Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment
  • Experience with Agile project management methodology
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio)
