  • ​This job is a member of the Inspection Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
  • ​Responsible for managing the support of American Airlines outsource Heavy Maintenance Providers (HMPs).
  • Also responsible for ensuring the proper administration of the American Airlines Quality Control programs including RII, NDT, Major repair reporting, receiving, training and rejection/buy back.

What you'll do

  • ​Manages the team which monitors compliance with the approved AA Maintenance Program and applicable CFR
  • Leads team that monitors work in progress for workmanship also for compliance with regulatory requirements and American Airlines policies, standards and procedures
  • Ensures vendors initiate the appropriate corrective actions as needed
  • Responsible for teams that audit completed tasks to assure physical work accomplished matches the provided instructions
  • Manages reported deficiencies of the Heavy Maintenance Provider
  • Works with other support organizations to ensure adequate collaboration
  • Builds strong dependable relationships with other supporting departments both internally and at all of the facilities
  • Extensive travel domestic and/or international will be required in addition to non-standard work weeks as necessary
  • Manage departmental budget for elements within their span of control
  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access to for privileges to airport security identification display area (SIDA), if applicable

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience/training
  • 4 years' experience in the operation and repair of air carrier maintenance programs

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​5 years' experience in the oversight of a Part 145 maintenance provider or Part 121 Maintenance organization
  • 10 years' experience in a supervisor role, overseeing the repair of Part 121 air carrier maintenance programs
  • Aircraft Training, Airbus Commercial Aircraft, Boeing Commercial Aircraft, Embraer Commercial Aircraft
  • Comprehensive understanding of American Airlines Policies and Procedures

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​FAA Airframe and Power plant license
  • Excellent interpersonal, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects at the same time
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Basic understanding of SCEPTRE System
  • Must be knowledgeable of Federal Aviation Regulations including aircraft/power plant inspection techniques and procedures
  • Knowledgeable of NDT borescope procedures
