About The Job
This job is a member of the Payroll Strategy Team within the Finance Division. This position will be responsible for gathering business requirements, testing, implementation and documentation of tax processes, tax authorities and related interfaces impacting the general ledger and payroll systems.
Specifically, you’ll do the following:
- Assists with all activities for all payroll tax and related system changes and ensures conformance to Company standards, labor agreements, generally accepted accounting principles, tax regulations and internal control requirements
- Gathers and documents business requirements related to tax processes and business function
- Assists with developing and performing the testing impacting the taxes related to the payroll system
- Represents the department in meetings and through written and verbal communication with internal and external customers
- Assists in identifying and documenting internal controls in support of auditing team
- Some travel required, as needed
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related business field and/or equivalent experience/training
- At least 3-5 years experience with multi-state tax reporting in a large-scale payroll processing environment
- Knowledge of internal controls (SOX, fundamental tax regulations, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of federal and multi-state payroll tax regulations; ability to research tax regulations
- Experience with payroll and payroll processes recommended
- Experience with SAP a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
- Experience with system design and implementation
- Ability to read and understand multiple labor agreements
- Demonstrate outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well under stressful situations
- Ability to handle multiple assignments, changing priorities with minimal supervision
