About the Role

We are currently looking for Registered Nurse - Endoscopy to provide the highest standard of specialist patient care for the endoscopy patient. The post holder will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care and follow standards/ protocols to provide a quality service to patients. The post holder will provide and assist with the development of safe and high-quality specialist patient care. 

 

About the Responsibility

  • Assessing the patient when they are first brought in and get them ready for the endoscopic procedure. 

  • Administering the required medicines to the patients and preparing the ones that are going to be used during or after the treatment 

  • Keeping a watch on the patients while the main health care provider is diagnosing them 

  • Helping the patients after the procedure has been completed and offer assistance with the necessary post-procedure assessments. 

  • Deliver high-quality care to patients undergoing endoscopy 

  • Undertakes delegated duties about management administration 

  • Ensure that the environment and equipment are well maintained, safety checked and in a state of readiness for use for the treatment of endoscopy patients by self, endoscopists and other staff members of the endoscopy department. 

  • Responsible for the setting, maintenance, and managing of stock and stock levels including drugs, sundries, equipment, and medical supplies.

  • Required to use and oversee the safe use, troubleshooting, and repairs of highly complex expensive specialized medical equipment to ensure a safe working environment for patients and staff by the Health and Safety at Work. 

  • Responsible for the safe storage and security of medicines and controlled drugs in line with the Misuse of Drugs Act, Hospital Policy and Professional Codes of Conduct. 

  • Safe handling and storage of patient’s valuables while in the department. 

  • Daily responsibility for managing information compiled by self and others by receiving, inputting and storing onto computerized records where applicable as well as into patient written records. E.g., blood results and patient details.

 

About the Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in nursing.   
  • UAE License or Eligibility is preferable.
  • BLS is mandatory.
  • English fluency is mandatory
  • Knowledge of Arabic is preferable
  • Computer Literacy

 

Minimum Experience:

Minimum 4 years of experience in which 2 years as Endoscopy nurse. 

 

Job-Specific Skills:

Have knowledge of chronic disease management that encompasses respiratory, cardiac conditions and diabetes. Implement and evaluate individual chronic disease care plans.

Undertake clinical duties, with relevant training in the below areas:

  • Assessment of patients at out-patients clinics
  • Assisting Physicians at the out-patients clinics
  • Evaluation and Monitoring of vital signs
  • Infection Control Management
  • Venepuncture
  • Intravenous cannulation
  • Basic and Advance Life Support
  • Conducting Bedside Monitoring of blood sugar
  • Documentation of Patients Medical history, Vital signs and Management Plan
  • Patient Education
  • Managerial Skills
  • Knowledge in all Clinical Policy and Procedures
  • Administration and Management of IV medications and Fluids
  • Computer Literacy
