Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **POSITION INFORMATION** Role Summary The Station Duty Manager coordinates all phases of station operations during nights, weekends, and holidays, with the full authority to make decisions critical to maintaining Alaska's operating and safety objectives. Scope & Complexity As a manager with direct reports, this position leads station operation activities for Alaska Airlines. Key Duties - Coordinates all phases of station operations during nights, weekends and holidays with full authority to make decisions critical to maintaining Alaska's operating and safety objectives. - Assesses passenger situations and responds in a manner that maintains operational reliability while ensuring excellent customer service. - Collaborates with Maintenance, Flight Operations, Inflight, and SOC to determine acceptable passenger, baggage, and on-time performance impacts due to off-schedule operations. - Implements procedural and/or process changes related to the arrival or departure of aircraft, passenger flow and balancing, and baggage make-up and delivery. - Makes recommendations to the senior station leadership on appropriate changes to ensure quality service and operational goals are achieved while also meeting CSA established productivity goals. - Acts as liaison to the applicable Port Authority for facility infrastructure projects. - Manages day-to-day vendor operations and ensures all passenger expectations are met. - Measures vendor productivity and provides oversight and immediate feedback on vendor performance. - Provides leadership and direction and ensures high standards and performance are maintained. - Manages staffing levels to ensure adequacy in all operational areas (e.g., ticket lobby, concourse, baggage claim areas) and provides day-to-day oversight to ensure lunch and break schedules meet passenger flow. - Measures internal productivity and provides immediate feedback and oversight on performance. - Provides feedback on probationary and grievance processes, with recommendations for appropriate discipline if needed. - Oversees employee recognition and the attainment of operational performance goals (e.g., MAP rate, on-time performance, time-to-carousel, and customer satisfaction). - Helps coordinate training needs for baggage service, concourse, ticket counter, and departure coordinators. - Performs other duties as assigned. Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required - A minimum of 5 years of airline operations or equivalent experience, with proven skills in passenger service, cargo handling, ground operations, or personnel administration. - A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience. - Experience scheduling work shifts, administering bargaining unit employees, and overseeing budget controls. - Managerial experience motivating employee groups and administering disciplinary procedures. - Analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to make decisions, and instruct and coach employees. - Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Familiarity with TSA, FAA, and IATA regulations and requirements related to ground handling and passenger boarding. - A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree.
