Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Product Manager IV takes part in shaping the future of key aspects of our Crew Scheduling application suite. The person in the role is to be viewed as a thought leader who can orchestrate the product vision in the form of a roadmap, balancing company initiatives with investments, resulting in a state-of-the-art suite of Crew management applications to support Alaska Airline's Pilots & Flight Attendants. This role will collaborate with key stakeholders, user experience, and technology to ensure our investments are prioritized appropriately and aligned with business requirements. Scope & Complexity This people leader role product manages a staff in the strategic planning for development and delivery for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. This role leverages competitive analysis, user research, and data to define a product vision and strategy. Key Duties Defining the Product Road Map - Creates product road maps that ensure Alaska's suite of Crew Scheduling applications support the present and future needs of the Alaska Airlines Pilot & Flight Attendant community. - Crafts the product strategy for your areas(s) based on data, including transactional data, usage statistics, primary user research, and industry analyst reports. - Stays abreast of industry trends as well as competitors' capabilities. - Sells the product strategy and road map to key stakeholders throughout the company, including senior executives. Guiding the Product - Delivers results for key product metrics and goals that support business objectives. - Develops business cases and models based on data-driven analysis and assumptions. - Partners with stakeholders across the organization to represent their needs and ensure support for go-to-market plans. - Collaborates with product owners to define product requirements, prioritize product features, and may drive execution. - Makes key tradeoff decisions when required, smartly using data when it exists, solid judgment when it doesn't, and escalating as appropriate. - Engages in constructive conversations with - and delivers tough messages when needed - to key stakeholders, including senior executives, while continually building professional and productive relationships. - Leads, develops and engages a team to drive high performance and to deliver high-value service to our customers. Job-Specific Skills, Experience & Education Required - A minimum of 7 years of product management experience. - A minimum of 2 years in a leadership position. - Bachelor's degree in aviation management, business, economics, statistics, mathematics or finance, or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree - Experience as a product leader in an agile product development environment. - Strong familiarity with mobile technologies with proven ability to partner with software engineering teams on investment and planning decisions. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with diverse audiences, including both technical and non-technical customers, colleagues, and executives. - Ability to act as an inspirational leader who will promote the Alaska Airlines values, act with a high sense of urgency and unquestionable integrity. - Demonstrated ability to build strong stakeholder relationships. - Demonstrated ability to create a strategic product vision balancing corporate initiatives and Crew Scheduling system investments. - Skilled at making and defending tough decisions, while demonstrating care and concern for the opinions of others, both inside and outside the organization. - Excellent teamwork skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Preferred - Knowledge of the airline and/or travel industries and related technologies - Knowledge of Crew scheduling applications - Deep working knowledge of product development concepts - A Master of Arts/Science degree or a Master of Business Administration degree.
