Job description / Role

Al-Futtaim Auto and Machinery Company (Famco) is a member of the Al-Futtaim Group, one of the largest privately owned business houses in the lower Gulf. Famco's UAE business covers the supply of products & services to a diverse range of industries and commercial undertakings covering transport, construction, manufacturing, warehousing and the marine sector. Famco serves these industries with world-class brands including Volvo Trucks, Volvo Buses, Volvo Construction Equipment, Linde Material Handling, Yanmar, Himoinsa etc.

We are currently looking to recruit passionate and dynamic person for the position of Unit Demonstration Manager for Volvo Trucks to support and train customer drivers in UAE. This position will report to the Divisional Manager Trucks Division.

The main responsibilities of the role will include:

 

• Complete vehicle training of the customer drivers and operators on the safe driving techniques and daily routine checkups of their fleet.
• Support the sales team in new vehicle delivery to show case the truck and its operation.
• Showcasing Demo vehicles & explain the features / options available at various customer sites.
• Prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences to drivers at customer location.
• Assess customer drivers and provide constructive feedback to the fleet managers on how to improve the driving skills by using various driving techniques which is in line with Volvo standards.
• Maintain complete records of driver’s progress and development for all the customers.
• Listen to driver / customers concerns on the ground realities of the vehicle operation and escalate it to Volvo team for Specification configuration / product development.
• Provide customer feedback through post training briefings.
• Maintain routine conversation with customer drivers to check the progress and suggest needed changes.
• Take active role in the various marketing activities related to customer and its driver engagements.

 

To consider you for this position you will have the following experience:

• Heavy Duty License with 5 years of excellent truck driving record.
• Experience of driving heavy duty trucks both tractor heads connected with trailers and rigids at various operational conditions inside UAE.
• Keen ability to work effectively with drivers of all backgrounds even transcending language barriers.
• Good interpersonal skills
