Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Director Station Operations Latin America sets the long-term strategy and oversees the financial performance of the Alaska Airlines Mexico and Cost Rica locations. As a people leader, this role establishes strategic goals and direction for a team of leaders to lead and drive a safe, reliable operation, to ensure optimum efficiency, productivity, and financial performance of the station while maintaining the highest standards in customer service. This role also promotes a culture of continuous improvement while liaising with other operational teams to ensure effective alignment and best practices across the company. Scope & Complexity This position oversees the customer service and station operation activities for Alaska Airlines in Latin America. You must be able to run the day-to-day business in a challenging, fast paced environment, while maintaining strict compliance standards and customer service expectations. Location The base location is flexible as long as it's within Mexico. Key Duties - Establish strategic goals and provides leadership for the Latin America stations. - Implement operational plans to ensure the station meets performance objectives, safety action plans and compliance guidelines. - Represent Alaska Airlines in Latin America in a wide range of roles including government and airport affairs, industry and labor relations, and maintain primary responsibility for regulatory and fiscal compliance. - Negotiate and manage vendor contracts for station operations and support services as required. - Ensure regulatory compliance with company policies and in all aspects of Alaska Airlines operations in Latin America (flight schedules, fare filings, charters, security, etc.). - Represent the company with outside counsel, in conjunction with the in-house legal team for legal issues in Latin America. - Partner with Accounting to establish and maintain appropriate internal controls and related procedures for the Latin America accounting operations and facility planning to ensure optimum efficiency, productivity and financial performance of the station. - Lead the budgeting strategy and planning process and develop a budget plan tied to key financial and operational metrics. - Continuously monitor schedule productivity to ensure operational metrics are being met. - Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on fostering strategic and systems thinking, development of talent, and succession planning across teams and disciplines. - Shape culture of the team through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors. Job-Specific Skills, Experience & Education Required - A minimum of 8 years of airline operational management experience. - A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, with at least 2 of those years directly leading people. - Bachelor's degree or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree. - Fluent in English and Spanish. - Strong track record effectively managing teams, with experience developing and mentoring employees through engagement. - Working knowledge of fiscal control systems, staffing processes, safety, and security compliance. - Sound, strategic thinker with a track record of demonstrating good judgement, strong business acumen, and executing plans with a sense of urgency and a mind for safety. - Skilled at making and defending tough decisions, while demonstrating care and concern for the opinions of others, both inside and outside the organization. - Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal). - Proactive, enthusiastic, creative, and willing to try new approaches. - Ability and willingness to travel extensively (50-75%). - Must be authorized to work in Mexico. - Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport to fly in and out of Latin America and the United States. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Minimum age of 18.
