About The Job

This job is a member of the Operations Planning Team within the Integrated Operations Division. The team is responsible for all aspects of Block Planning, working with Network Planning on Hub Structure and Schedule design to set our operations for success, providing analytical support to IOC and Regional partners to help execute on operational initiatives. 

The Analyst/Sr. Analyst position will proactively analyze several aspects of operational performance, covering a wide variety of both strategic and operational analysis. The analyst will be involved in leveraging variety of data from both internal and external sources to derive insight through analysis, create reports and Tableau dashboards. This position will be responsible for working closely with various stakeholders including Network Planning, IOC and the Regional team on a variety of operational initiatives.

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

•    Mine, model, analyze and evaluate operational data to identify root cause factors impacting operational reliability
•    Respond to ad hoc data/analysis requests from various departments
•    Provide competitive gap analysis to identify key performance drivers and opportunities to close the gap to our competition
•    Provide periodic updates on drivers of operational issues and progress made with associated initiatives, to the operating departments and Senior leaders
•    Assist in hypothesis development for root cause analysis related to reliability performance
•    Develop presentations and present findings with recommendations to the operating groups and senior management
•    Interact with other departments including Network Planning, Regional Operations Team and IOC
 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Operation Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics with analytical work experience. Master’s Preferred
•    Familiarity with the airline operations metrics and related operational procedures/processes a plus
•    Ability to structure an analysis from scratch
•    Demonstrated experience in taking complex analysis and turning them into actionable insights
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels within the organization as well as external contacts
•    Adaptable, comfortable with unstructured work and occasional shifting priorities 
•    Knowledge of data processing/manipulation languages such as SAS, Python or SQL in large database environments
•    Proficiency in Tableau 

Preferred Qualifications

•    Familiarity with the airline operations metrics and related operational procedures/processes
•    Proficiency in advanced analytics
