The Senior Developer is a member of our Learning Experience team at American Airlines Training & Conference Center. This team designs and develops digital learning by partnering with business units, instructional designers and learning architect teams. This position reports to the Manager, Creative Development. This position is responsible for designing and developing digital applications and tools in support of a variety of training and talent development projects.
Specifically, you’ll do the following:
- Create custom code, interactions and interface elements for digital media projects
- Support and contribute to video, photography and motion graphics projects
- Maintain expertise level understanding of evolving development technologies
- Collaborate closely with other Learning Experience teams and business units across American
- Assume a leadership role in determining the technical direction of the team
- Support and mentor development staff in technical development
- Ensure all products delivered are technically excellent and error free
- Manage multiple projects and respond to changing objectives
- Provide support for training programs once deployed to the field
- Contribute to internal projects and other tasks as required by the manager
Required Qualifications
- Expertise in HTML/CSS/JavaScript/JQuery
- Proficient using Bootstrap
- Familiar with Adobe CC suite workflow
- Experience with UX/UI development and design
- Ability to identify, adopt, and support evolving digital media technologies
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience developing digital media
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Video and photography production/editing
- Proficient with Adobe graphics applications such as Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects and Animate
- Experience with SVN or similar source-code repository
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience with LMS Administration
- Experience with Virtual Reality (VR) or Augmented Reality (AR)
