This job is a member of the Payroll Team within the Finance Division. This position will be responsible for handling employee payroll questions via phone, chat, email, etc.
Specifically, you’ll do the following:
- Explains and interprets complex payroll information to employees at all levels of the organization
- Uses analytical skills to identify and address potential issues
- Assists in specialized processing and assigned projects, requiring more detailed knowledge of payroll procedures
- Reviews audit reports for processing errors and request corrections as necessary
- Researches employee questions and provide resolution, as dictated by company policy
- Organizes and maintains records to enable special processing that reduces the occurrences of incorrect payroll payments
- Assists in special projects and testing of new processing systems
- Provides training as needed
- Communicates all discrepancies to payroll supervisor
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
- Ability to demonstrate above average customer service, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Ability to work as a team player in a high stress environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- 7 years of business experience
- 5 years of working in a high volume, multi-state payroll department
- Familiarity with accounting principles relating to funds disbursements, payroll tax statutory requirements and payment regulations
- Familiarity with expense reporting and garnishment processing
- CPP Certification
