About The Job

This job is a member of the Maintenance Team within the Integrated Operations Division. This position will be responsible for overall supervision of assigned Maintenance Programs (MXP). This job also develops and maintains the Engineering Specification Materials (ESM) manual.

 

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

  • Supervises maintenance program escalations and optimizations
  • Supervises and develops maintenance programs for new fleet inductions
  • Ensures projects are on track and provides regular updates on commitments made to customers
  • Implements compliance actions for Airworthiness Directives (ADs) as needed
  • Stays informed on all issues / projects related MXP systems Represent American Airlines at industry meetings
  • Supervises assigned MXP analyst and specialists in order to implement all department requirements
  • Supervises and develops maintenance programs for new fleet inductions
  • Coordinates requests from Production and other groups for program changes
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • ​High School Diploma or GED equivalency
  • 5 years airline experience
  • Ability to interact effectively with various organizational groups (mechanics, multiple management levels, FAA, etc.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of airline maintenance programs, policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Airworthiness Directives, FARs, FAA policies and STCs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data necessary to substantiate program escalations and optimization
  • Demonstrated knowledge of original equipment manufacturer documentation (AMN, IPC, WDM, CMM)
  • Demonstrated cost/benefit analytical skills
  • Knowledge of and experience with airline forecast and planning systems

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Previous project management or management experience
  • Previous MXP or Engineering experience
  • Experience with job card authoring systems, XML, and other computer systems
