Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Social Media Manager is a subject matter expert in social media strategy and platforms - designing social media marketing campaigns and building brand loyalty via digital marketing channels at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. This role manages the day-to-day activities related to supporting Alaska Airlines current social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram. As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgement to make decisions in social media strategies and platforms and provides recommendations to address business challenges and revenue initiatives via social. Scope & Complexity This independent contributor position manages social media marketing activities for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. Key Duties - Acts as subject matter expert social media platforms and engagement best practices. - Manages the day-to-day activities related to supporting Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air current social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram. - With minimal direction from leadership, exercises considerable judgement in content creation, social partnerships and channel strategies and execution. Designs social media marketing campaigns and builds brand loyalty via digital marketing channels to grow profitable sales and increase revenue. - Plans content and maintains ownership of the social media editorial and promotions calendar and coordinates calendars and content with brand marketing, corporate communications, email marketing, and web content teams. - Is the voice of Alaska and ensures all content and customer messaging is consistent with brand voice and tone. - Works closely with the Brand Studio to direct content creation for social channels. Drives creative briefs, stakeholder approvals, etc. - Coordinates social promotions, contests, and marketing programs to ensure maximum value is obtained for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. This includes developing social campaigns to address business challenges such as key routes, products and new initiatives. - Provides social media guidance to customer care and remains on the lookout for major incidents. Serves as key member of the Emergency Response team for any brand / social incident. Job-Specific Skills, Experience & Education Required - A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree, with a focus in marketing, communications or a related discipline, or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree. - A minimum of 4 years of social media platform experience. - Extensive experience in social media use. - Strong written communications skills with the ability to write content that resonates with target audiences and is brand appropriate. - Strong decision-making skills to determine appropriate tone, direction, and substance of social medial posts that drive business results. - Self-starter who takes initiative to seek out stories and content regardless of obstacles. - Ability to articulate the relevant message to consumers in a concise manner. Preferred - 2 years of experience working with digital marketing or e-commerce. - Travel industry experience. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). - Proficiency with website analytics. - Experience using social analytics platforms. - Strong passion and curiosity for the social digital space.
