About The Job

The International Co-Brand Partnerships team manages over a hundred Co-Brand Credit Card products in forty countries in partnership with international banks. Analyst / Sr. Analyst responsibilities include (I) management, growth, and profitability of American Airlines portfolio of Co-Brand Credit Card products in the assigned countries, (II) marketing execution of global initiatives and incentive programs and (III) management and enhancement of American Airlines’ relationships with international bank partners in Latin America, Caribbean, Asia and/or Europe. Team member in this position will also focus on performance tracking and analysis.

 

Specifically, you’ll do the following:

  • Responsible for administration, growth, and profitability of American Airlines portfolio of Co-Brand Credit Card products in the assigned countries;
  • Responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of American Airlines relationships with international bank partners in Latin America, Caribbean, Asia and/or Europe;
  • Have ownership of the team’s internal and external databases, data structure and overall reporting.
  • Identify and evaluate new partnerships by developing business cases and financial models for the most attractive opportunities based on profit potential and implementation requirements
  • Conduct financial performance analysis including effectiveness and return on investment (ROI) of credit card marketing campaigns and programs
  • Responsible of monthly and annual budget, variance explanation, and forecasting
  • Analyze historical trends and credit card customer behavior, and develop models to segment and target customers for acquisition and spend campaigns

  • Perform contract negotiations
  • Administer and implement joint (American Airlines and Bank) Co-Brand marketing initiatives including product launches, acquisition and retention campaigns, and creative marketing approvals
  • Responsible for portfolio operations including day-to-day contact with bank partners, technical and operational project management, key indicator tracking, and invoice approvals
  • Evaluate competitive strategies and industry trends to determine impact to Co-Brand Credit Card portfolio in each country and contemplate action plans to protect revenue and profitability
  • Execute and streamline of monthly credit card reporting, including acquisition, credit card spend, attrition, revenue, expense and service metrics
  • Design and enhance products (additional benefits, new redemption opportunities, accrual modifications, and new card levels)
  • Develop and present updates and proposals to Executive Leadership
  • Interact frequently with international marketing, country sales teams, legal, AA.com, revenue management, IT and customer service
  • Position requires domestic and international travel 30% of time for contract negotiations and business development meetings
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance, or related field
  • 3 years of experience in the job offered or as an analyst or manager performing analytics and quantitative analysis, and demonstrated experience in:
    • Summarizing and synthetizing large amounts of qualitative and quantitative information
    • Working with data analytics, reporting, financial modeling, and forecasting for sales projections, behavioral trending and market analysis
    • Administering partner relationships including contract negotiations, marketing approvals, promotion evaluations and funding
    • Developing presentations and reporting dashboards using finance metrics and language
  • Previous budgeting and forecasting experience, preferably with analysis of travel trends, net present value and business case modeling, and preferably pertaining to Latin America
  • Professional Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel user)
  • Familiarity and experience with business partnerships (internal or external)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Finance, or related quantitative field
  • Previous experience forecasting currency risk scenarios and forex impact
  • Cognos, SharePoint, MOSAIC/Hyperion database querying desired
  • Experience with SQL databases a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish (writing and orally)
