This person will help coordinate political engagement for the Global Government Affairs team. That includes managing the American Airlines political action committee (“AAPAC”), managing compliance issues related both to AAPAC and lobbying, and managing our executive engagement efforts.

What you'll do

• Serve as Manager of the American Airlines Political Action Committee (AAPAC), which includes primary responsibility for all aspects of AAPAC, including growing AAPAC by recruiting more contributors to the PAC, tracking PAC budgeting and spending, and all PAC reporting and other FEC compliance matters.
• Oversee all aspects of lobbying compliance for American Airlines. 
• Coordinate broad strategy for executive engagement in Washington, DC and help manage logistics and details for executive visits.   
• Assist in managing external lobbying consultants.
• Complete research projects and serve as project manager where directed.

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Bachelor’s degree and/or related experience
• 3 years minimum related experience in politics, lobbying, etc…
• Highest standards of personal ethics and integrity
• Demonstrated possession of the attributes central to the core of American’s leadership model, including caring for all team members and an open and collaborative mind set
• Superb written and oral communication skills
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and anticipate team needs
• Track record of creativity and a passion to constantly innovate and improve
• Demonstrated ability to identify strategic priorities, work within a matrix organization to bring together different internal stakeholders, and develop and manage a policy project forward to resolution and action
• Comfortable working with senior management and partners at all levels within the Company

• Experience with political action committees strongly preferred
