This job is a member of the Onboard Products Team within the Marketing Division. It is responsible for defining the product strategy for American’s in-flight entertainment offerings and partnerships. You will be responsible for making strategic recommendations that define American’s in-air customer experience, based on both quantitative analysis and customer research. This analyst will own and define American’s IFE product strategy and long-term roadmap.
This role will collaborate closely with groups across the company including the commercial organization, Finance, Tech Ops, and Flight Service, so the ability to communicate effectively, and motivate diverse sets of stakeholders to a goal is paramount.
- Define strategy for American’s in-flight entertainment offering (movies, TV, music, games, etc.)
- Manage relationships with American’s unique in-flight partners including Apple, NBC, HBO, etc.
- Select content based on customer demand and ensure content aligns with brand strategy.
- Responsible for all IFE Licensing contracts and commercial relationships, negotiations, and budget.
- Manage relationship with our Content Service Provider, Spafax
- Provide recommendations on strategic IFE projects; analyze pricing, revenue-enhancing proposals, capital expenditures, cost-savings opportunities, process/technology changes, new partnership opportunities and product initiatives
- Work across a variety of functional areas including Marketing, AAdvantage, Finance, Procurement, Tech Ops, and Legal for strategic and tactical decision-making
- Manage strategy, negotiations and relationships with in-flight partners with the objective of creating points of product differentiation and revenue opportunity and/or cost savings
- Some travel may be required
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Demonstrated experience in Excel modeling and PowerPoint presentation development; advanced Excel user
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Working knowledge of airline industry databases and tools such as Mosaic, Sabre or SQL
- Deep experience negotiating with third-parties and managing ongoing third-party relationships

- Detail-oriented mindset with experience editing and proofing content and conducting acceptance testing of technical projects
- Ability to think quickly and handle a variety of projects concurrently
- Strong oral and written communication skills with packaging and presentation experience to senior management
