Job Description:
- Incorporate approved engineering changes into technical manuals (AMM, AIPC, WDM, etc.) per FAA regulations and company requirements
- Evaluate engineering orders, drawings and other technical data as required for inclusion into technical manuals
- Coordinate workload and tasks required to create technical publication manual changes or documents and meet schedule deadlines
- Manage scheduled OEM technical manual revisions, reconciling airline data with revised OEM data
- Review and proofread documents to ensure that work produced reflects accurate information from the engineering documents and that it is technically and grammatically correct and following a consistent format
- Communicate with appropriate internal groups and subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate and meets FAA regulations and company requirements
- Maintains metrics designed to measure the progress and effectiveness of initiatives insuring industry best practices are implemented as required
- Performs other duties as assigned by Technical Operations Publications management
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- A&P certificate and/or at least 2 years aircraft mechanical maintenance experience
- Excellent grammar and proof reading skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills with proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Good interpersonal and teamwork qualities
- Demonstrated ability to manage large workloads effectively and develop strategies to meet deadlines
- Willing to work weekends as needed to meet deadlines
Preferred qualifications:
- Avionics experience and/or working knowledge of wiring diagram manuals
- Working knowledge with Vector or Raster graphic formats
- Technical writing experience in an aircraft maintenance environment
- Excellent knowledge in the use of aircraft manuals, engineering documentation, Airworthiness Directives (AD) and Service Bulletins (SB)
