This position will be responsible for leading and managing small to large-scale aircraft cabin interior and entry-into-service Tech Ops projects that are strategic to meeting American’s business objectives, ensuring project goals and success criteria are met. Assignments include introduction of new fleets and aircraft modification retrofit programs.

What you'll do

 

•Coordinate responses to Tech Ops Requests for Service from internal customers, developing estimates for costs and schedule to requested modifications

•Manage project plans, budgets, project risks, issues and change control

•Present project updates to numerous audiences, including Steering Committees and senior executives

•Coordinate across multiple departments, including areas such as Tech Ops (Maintenance. Procurement and Engineering), IT, Finance, Flight Service, Marketing, Cabin Appearance, Customer Experience, Flight Ops and Integrated Operations (IOC) and CRE

•Hold vendors and internal groups accountable for delivery of tasks and assignments

•Introduce process changes and project management discipline where warranted

•Challenge the status quo and keep airline interest in the forefront of decision-making process

•Contribute to the project management expertise of the Planning organization

*Position level assigned will be commensurate with experience. Position will be at HDQ with some travel, particularly between TUL and HDQ

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Planning, Project Management or equivalent work experience/training
  • 3 year's experience in a Project Manager or Planner capacity
  • Previous airline experience
  • Data analytics and planning experience in one or more airline areas

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Project management experience
  • PMP Certification
  • MBA
  • Familiarity with Maintenance and Engineering/Technical Operations 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong project management experience, demonstrating cross-departmental coordination and successful delivery on significant-sized project(s)

  • Quantitative, analytical and problem resolution ability with a high degree of motivation
  • Proven financial and planning skills; high level of comfort with Excel

  • Demonstrated ability to execute and drive projects to completion
