As an individual contributor, this role ensures that all Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) personnel is provided with necessary information and instructions to perform their duties and responsibilities with a high degree of safety. Scope & Complexity This individual contributor role leads the development of maintenance procedures, work documents, and diagrams to support maintenance in meeting the safe and economical maintenance and operations standards of the aircraft for Alaska Airlines (AS). Key Duties In the entry level: - Supervised to author, revise and publish documentation that provides all Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) personnel with necessary information and instructions to perform their duties and responsibilities with a high degree of safety. - Supports the publication of documentation that adheres to applicable Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)s, Department of Defense (DoD) standards, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Laws and Regulations, International Air Transport Association (IATA) Regulations, Air Transport Association (ATA) Specifications. - Supports the coordination and communication with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as necessary and supports resolution of audit findings for the department. In the intermediate level: - Authors, revises, and publishes documentation that provides all Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) personnel with necessary information and instructions. - Publishes documentation that adheres to applicable Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)s, Department of Defense (DoD) standards, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Laws and Regulations, International Air Transport Association (IATA) Regulations, Air Transport Association (ATA) Specifications. - Provides input on program requirements and procedures based on Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines for airworthiness and compliance. In the senior level: - Develops, reviews, revises, and publishes documentation that provides all Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) personnel with necessary information and instructions. - Makes recommendations, as subject matter expert, on program requirements and procedures based on FAA guidelines for airworthiness and compliance. - Coordinates and communicates with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as necessary and facilitates resolution of audit findings for the department. Job-Specific Skills, Experience & Education Entry Level - 2 years of experience in technical writing, publication, or other related area. - Strong analytical and complex problem-solving ability, particularly in identifying issues and trends. Intermediate Level - 1 year of experience in technical writing, publication, or other related area - Bachelor's degree, with a focus in aviation safety or a related discipline or an additional two years of experience in lieu of this degree.. - Ability to meet assigned project deadlines with self-directed decision-making confidence. - Detail oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.
