JOB PURPOSE: 

Government Relations Manager is responsible for establishing new projects that will enhance the relationship with Government departments and manage all marketing events for Government Relations Department. Defining and developing the strategies which underpin a company’s CSR objectives. The individual will conduct research, come up with ideas, develop policies, create detailed plans, build relationships with partner organizations, and then implement and coordinate a range of activities & initiatives, that are designed to have a positive impact on the environment and local communities, and therefore positively enhance AFM’s Corporate image and the image of each of the AFM brands across the UAE with both government, the corporate sector and local communities, ultimately creating a positive bottom line impact. 
 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Specify the output required from the job. Identify not more than 7 Key Accountabilities & their performance indicators. NB-Focus on outcomes not tasks 

Create new relationships that didn’t exist with government & semi-government entities in the UAE.

Maintain and build/further develop existing relationships with government & semi-government entities in the UAE.  

Communicate relevant UAE regulations and monitor its compliance across all AF Automotive UAE businesses.  

Contribute to business development for all AF Automotive UAE businesses by ensuring its participation in UAE government & semi-government tenders for relevant automotive products &services.  

Monitor & organize all communications to UAE government & semi-government entities related to contracts, tenders, letters, etc. across all AF Automotive UAE businesses.  

Act as an escalation point for all AF Automotive UAE businesses in all issues relating to government regulations, disputes, permits, fines, other issues, etc.

 

 JOB CONTEXT: Define organizational policy and other factors that have a critical impact on the job 

 

The individual must have:

 - Strong relationship and negotiation skills to be able to fully execute this role.

 - Must be able to devise, propose, implement and manage the strategic imperatives of the AF Automotive GR agenda.

 - Must be able to embed this not only within the AF Automotive organization but be able to communicate this to all stakeholders: Government, Community, Customers and the Al Futtaim Group.  


 QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge: Bachelor, preferably with a specific qualification in an area related to CSR Minimum Experience: 1 year with prior exposure to GR roles  Job-Specific Skills: Relationship building, Negotiation skills Behavioural Competencies: This is a relationship-building career, therefore, a strong client/stakeholder focus and the ability to interact with senior leadership is important. Ideal candidates are self-starters, team players and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
