As a people leader, the Manager Employee Tools - Mobile leads and establishes priorities for the software engineering team to innovate on multiple employee experience initiatives, supporting engagement, retention and safety. Additionally, this role will focus on our technical and product health by modernizing our platform. The applications are primarily built for the web and iOS with some Android presence. You will coach and mentor your team, work closely with Product Management and User Experience to define, refine and drive delivery, facilitate and own technical decisions. Scope & Complexity As a people leader, the Manager, Software Engineering - Mobile leads and establishes priorities for employee facing mobile applications. Key Duties - Lead a team of multi-disciplined software engineers and establish priorities of mobile focus services - Makes decisions related to technical oversight with the team, including architecture, DevOps and coding practices - Accountable for quality focused software delivery, including new build and implementation of software fixes - Delivers robust technical solutions which are scalable, reliable and highly available - Works with product owners and managers to assist with product roadmaps - Manage and support evolving Agile software delivery teams, data drive approach and ability to measure delivery performance - Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on delegation for stretch assignments, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, looking at performance across the team, and time management - Shapes culture of team to be conducive to innovation, continuous improvement, collaborative teamwork, and delivery of quality technology solutions Job-Specific Skills, Experience & Education Required - 5 years of software engineering experience - 2 years of leadership experience - Bachelor degree, with a focus in a computer science or a related field, or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree - Strong software and data structure design, development and architecture experience - Native Mobile Development (iOS and/or Android) experience and publishing to the public App Store - Experience with web development including ASP .net and/or React, publishing web apps and backend services to Azure cloud platform - High school diploma or equivalent is required - Minimum age of 18 - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Expert knowledge of current mobile architecture and engineering standards, including CI/CD experience - Experience working with off-shore delivery teams Job-Specific Leadership Expectations Embody our values to own safety, do the right thing, be kind-hearted, deliver performance, and be remarkable. **EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY** Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines are equal opportunity employers.
