Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Senior Application Administrator is responsible for developing and maintaining deep technical knowledge of critical applications used within the OCC at Alaska. As an individual contributor, this role makes recommendations to improve application administration. Scope & Complexity This individual contributor role leverages technical knowledge to support application administration activities. Key Duties - Delivers broad administration/support for OCC applications (examples include JCTE Crew Scheduling system and other related systems). - Train other application administrators on all elements of the application administration role, including technical, process, and documentation best practices. Additionally, serves as the point of escalation for other application administrators in the event of severe or critical issues impacting production operations. - Develops and maintains highly detailed and technical documentation for OCC applications, with a focus on integration touch-points, break-fix methodologies, and general upkeep. - Serves as the initial point of contact for OCC for application workflow and technical issues. - Develops and maintains a deep technical understanding of all OCC applications, including server-side configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and integration. - Provides 24x7 on-call support for critical issues affecting OCC applications/infrastructure. - Partners with IT and the OCC subject matter experts to plan and execute software upgrades, feature tests, audits, and disaster recovery tests. - Tracks and monitors application availability and performance. Job-Specific Skills, Experience & Education Required - 2 years of hands-on experience with Jeppesen Scheduling applications or an equivalent technology. - 2 years of experience administering Unix based systems - Bachelor's degree with a focus in computer science or a related field, or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree. - Track record of flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. - Ability to quickly master and communicate complex technical concepts. - Understanding of application availability and performance metrics and IT/operations best practices. - Knowledge of fundamental IT concepts (e.g., servers, storage, networking, etc.). - High school diploma or equivalent. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Experience working in a technical support and/or helpdesk role. - LDAP/Active directory experience. - General Windows system administration experience. - Experience designing and creating command shell scripts in BASH, Sh, Python, etc - Hands-on project management experience.
