ROLE PURPOSE:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for working closely with Head of finance maximising profit, cost control, driving KPIs and ensuring optimum working capital for smooth running of the business

She/he is actively involved with the Head of finance to work on annual business plan and 5 year plan to drive growth and expansion of the business in existing and new territories.

KEY ROLE SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Description of the Accountability

Financial Accounting

  • Having a good knowledge of ERP / SAP systems and accounting principles , good understanding of P&L , Balance sheet & Cash flow.
  • Prepare Brand Financials on monthly and yearly.
  • Ensuring operations within AF group Policies
  • Strategic business planning support for existing operations
  • Support stores to achieve their annual targets
  • Coordinate with departments to make action plans to maximize returns
  • G/L scrutiny and accounts reconciliation

MIS and Reporting

  • Provide timely sales information to Management to actively work towards achieving revenue targets
  • Provide timely and accurate monthly financial statements to management to work towards achieving annual profit targets
  • Produce KPI reports for managing and controlling business performance

Budget , Quarterly Reviews & 5 year plans

  • Assist HOD Leading budgeting process in brand
  • Coordination with departments in communicating key business strategy for budgeting
  • Ensuring the brand teams in each departments understand and plan key components of budget process

Internal Controls and Policies

  • Working with compliance team to ensure implementation of finance related SOPs
  • Creating Logistic & Inventory management policies with Supply Chain team to create control in place.

Working capital management

  • Working with inventory &  logistics department to maintain targeted inventory levels in business
  • Coordinate with the buying team to improve vendor commercial terms related to payment, faulty goods allowance.

Profit protection plan

  • Assist HOD to ensure funds for project in coordination with Retail Finance
  • Working with operations head to control store expenses & capex spent.
  • Working in collaboration with other functions to control expense.

Audits and SOP’s

  • Coordinating all Al Futtaim group Internal Audit
  • Coordinating external audits for the brand
  • Conducting timely audits by internal resource to check and ensure non store process compliance and minimizing company risk.

Business partnering

  • Ensure that the finance department delivers timely and qualitative information to all departments on all aspects of the business
  • Partnering commercial team for vendor rebate management & producing margin analytics
  • Pre & post promo analytics
  • Marketing expense controlling Warehousing and Distribution cost controlling and partnering the team for their understanding

Project Analysis and expansion

  • Managing all feasibility analyses for new investments – preparing long term P&L , BS & CF with NPV , IRR analytics.
  • Timely and accurate reporting of pre-opening and CAPEX spends for project
  • Assist HOD and work with compliance team to ensure implementation of finance related SOPs

People & Leadership

  • Assist HOD in training of new staff in new territories for finance functions
  • Assist HOD for succession of Finance team to sustain continuity and development
