We are looking for a creative and experienced front-end JavaScript developer to join our Creative Development team at American Airlines Training & Conference Center (Skyview 5).  This team designs and develops custom HTML 5 digital learning by partnering with instructional designers, writers, LMS admins, media specialists and business units across the company.

 

This front end developer position is responsible for designing and developing highly interactive courses, games, digital applications and tools in support of a variety of training and development projects. This position reports to the Manager, Creative Development.

What you'll do

• Create custom JavaScript code, interactions and interface elements for digital media projects
• Research and develop new tools, languages and technologies to support Learning Experience objectives
• Provide a creative voice in project design, functional improvement and new solutions
• Support and contribute to video, photography and motion graphics projects
• Ensure all products delivered are technically excellent and error free
• Provide support for training programs once deployed to the field
• Maintain expertise and understanding of evolving development technologies
• Manage multiple projects and respond to changing objectives
• Collaborate closely with other Learning Experience teams and business units across American
• Contribute to a variety of internal projects and other tasks as required by the manager

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• ​Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience developing digital media
• 3 years experience with UX/UI Development and Design
• ​Expertise in HTML/CSS/JavaScript/JQuery

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Proficiency and knowledge using Bootstrap
• Prior experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, and DreamWeaver
• Prior experience and knowledge with production and editing

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

• Prior experience with LMS Administration 
• Knowledge and proficiency in PHP/MySQL
• Experience with SVN or similar source-code repository
• Experience with Virtual Reality (VR) or Augmented Reality (AR) 
• Ability to manage projects and deliver on-time quality products
• Ability to identify, adopt, and support evolving digital media technologies
• Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
