  • ​This job is a member of the Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division.
  • ​This candidate will be a member of Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) database shared service team and will be responsible for
    managing Enterprise SQL activities that include designing and building SQL database environments, administering, maintaining SQL
    databases and assisting the application development teams in optimizing schema design and SQL statements.
What you'll do
  • Collaborates with other Information Technology associates and functional business teams to build, deliver, and support
    effective, creative data management solutions aligned to specified business initiatives.
  • Creates, coordinates and administers databases, including base definition, structure documentation, operational guidelines,
    and security.
  • Based upon management direction, plans and implements strategies for meeting data management needs.
  • Applies established data management best practices and recommends improvements.
  • Assists application support teams with third party application installations and upgrades.
  • Assists with other information technology projects, as assigned, within the general scope of regularly assigned responsibilities
    and related qualifications.
  • Supports Production environment activities including on-call responsibilities.
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Must possess a degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline
  • Equivalent experience will be considered
  • Minimum of 5-10 years Microsoft SQL Server experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Advanced degree is preferred
  • Experience in creating, administering and maintaining cloud databases
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016 Storage Spaces Direct
  • Experience with third-party database monitoring tool

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Experience and understanding of various SQL Server features (i.e. SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, XML)
  • Experience with writing deployment scripts or deployment packages (executable) for various target environments like development, test and production
  • Experience with SQL Server Agent Jobs and its troubleshooting
  • Experience managing database asset within a source control system (i.e.TFS, Perforce, SVN, CVS, Visual Source Safe)
  • A strong understanding of the SQL Server database engine works, including but not limited to: Physical storage, indexing, physical database design best practices, and have a good understanding of the Query Optimizer
  • A solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and, specifically, what activities and artifacts a database developer has in each part of that lifecycle
  • Experience with tools as offered by Red Gate, Quest software, Embarcadero and/or Erwin etc.
  • Details-driven personality with a strong desire to develop and document processes and tools
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize and ensure tasks are completed on schedule
