Taking on each day knowing we're part of something remarkable. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Manager, Ground Operations is a key contributor who manages ground operations activities, including ramp operations, towing, aircraft servicing, safety and compliance and performance oversight. This Manager leads a team of people to help direct ground employees to assure they meet or exceed Horizon objectives for safety and compliance, on-time performance, baggage handling, and customer satisfaction. Scope & Complexity This leadership position manages ground operations for Horizon Air. You must be able to safely run the day to day ground service operations in a challenging, fast pace environment, while maintaining strict compliance standards and customer service expectations. Key Duties - Responsible for oversight of all ground operations, to include all GSAs, cabin cleaning, baggage handling, movement of cargo, United States Postal Service (USPS) mail, customs and towing programs. - Ensures ground operations employees have a robust culture of Safety and Compliance. - Be dynamic and results oriented in operational performance leadership meetings, finding ways to improve timeline performance. - Ensures operation and processes are compliant with federal, state, and airport authorities, as well as company policies. - Provides input to and sustain the ground operations budget to achieve company profitability. - Oversees employee staffing to achieve optimal productivity, provide input for employee schedules and flight schedule planning. - Manages Duty Managers (MOD) and other leaders to ensure optimal daily performance within ground operations. Creating a group of high performance leaders that are equipped to be proactive. - Provides leadership training and development opportunities. - Responsible for station labor and non-labor resources; recruitment, facilities, equipment and supplies. - Responsible to work collaboratively with Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines in all ground operational areas, using a high-performance, customer centric approach. - Responsible to work collaboratively with Port of Los Angeles (POS) on all ground operational issues; gating, remote/bussing operations, facility and construction mitigation. - Represents Horizon Air in airport and community events with professionalism, integrity, ingenuity and caring. - Builds a positive and engaged employee group. Job-Specific Skills & Education Required - A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, such as ground ops or other operational experience. - A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience. - Able to lead, motivate, and successfully communicate with a diverse workgroup and internal departments. - Knowledge of TSA, Customs, FAA and airline regulations. - Strong verbal, written and presentations skills. - Proficient in MS office and excel. - Proven ability to motivate and engage employees creating a team environment. - Demonstrate the ability to sustain a profitable budget and operational metrics. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be able to work in the U.S. Preferred - A Bachelor's of Science or a Bachelor's of Arts degree.
