Description

This position will be a member of the Operations Planning and Performance team which consists of various functions including analysis of operational performance, strategic planning for future operations, and reporting of operations performance metrics. The team member may work on a variety of projects across any of these functions.

 

Duties

  • Mines, models, analyzes and evaluates operational data to identify root cause factors impacting network reliability
  • ​​​Collaborates with operational departments, airports, and network planning in the development of future schedules
  • Performs analytical reviews of Operational Standards, with Operational groups and Network Planning and works collaboratively to develop solutions which help the schedule meet these standards
  • Presents findings and delivers recommendations to the operating groups and senior management
  • Monitors and tracks operational performance and delay information
  • Provides periodic reports to the operating departments focusing on trends and anomalies
  • Seeks out action plans and recommends corrective action to improve operational performance
Job Qualifications
  • Pursuing at least a Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Business Operations, Industrial Engineering, Applied Math, Computer Science, or related
  • Experience using data analysis and quantitative modeling techniques (e.g. statistical, optimization, simulation, spreadsheet) to answer business questions and to assess the added value of recommendations
  • Skilled in data analysis/modeling in Excel to answer business questions and assess operational impacts
  • Knowledge of data retrieval languages such as Access/SQL or SAS
  • Knowledge of reporting and data visualization tools and techniques (e.g. TABLEAU, COGNOS)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills along with a collaborative mindset and ability to influence others
