The Sr. Manager, Converged Data Services is responsible for strategic leadership and direct oversight of delivery functions; Converged Data Services including Infrastructure As Code within Global Network Delivery, Telecommunications services and continuous improvements. He/she manages various teams consisting of Mangers and Principal Architects cross-functionally and serves as the demand planning function from ideation to implementation. The Sr. Manager maximizes the effectiveness of technology delivery with strong teams in a dynamic environment. The leader will leverage their diverse skillset capabilities as well as strategic thinking, leadership and communication acumen. He/she will deliver a wide range of critical capabilities, to enable the long-range plans and objectives in the organization. - Oversee IT Converged Data Services, Network Delivery and Telecommunications Services, Converged Data Services Architecture
- Thought leader and knowledge in SIP, VoIP, QoS, Inter Cluster trunking, Call Admission and control mechanisms.
- Management oversight and delivery of next generation technologies such as Call Center, Unified Communications, Session Border Controller (SBC), Session Management…
- Senior experience and management oversight in working with and integrating to various Cloud providers, i.e…Azure, AWS, IBM, etc…mediums such as Express Route, VPC, Direct Connect, Transit VPC; leveraging SDWAN for agnostic transport mediums.
- Responsible for the oversight and setting direction for the unified Converged Data Services reference architecture, delivery and integration of a unified and converged data/telecommunications global landscape. Provide leadership and guidance for the design, development, and implementation of various telecommunications and network solutions that enhance overall performance and availability.
- Leads the teams to ensure alignment to the business strategy, technology roadmap, and adherence to Converged Data Services with a focused discipline merging network and telecommunications governance, best practices and policies –holding leadership and individual contributors accountable by MBO’s.
- Facilitate the digital transformation from the monolithic support model, aligning to Agile, DevOps, ITIL (process improvement, corrective action plans, root cause analysis, predictive analysis, forecasting and change governance), with a strong metrics and analytical mindset to drive service-excellence.
- Transform the organization by leveraging and enabling automation, orchestration, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD). (I.e. vRA, Ansible, Python, NSX…) - drive AA adoption.
- Utilize DevOps tools and methodology to improve efficiency and reduce operating expenses. (i.e. Jenkins, Git, etc.). Strong focus on Infrastructure As Code with dynamic API calls to the DevOps toolchain
- Accountable for identifying; designing; building and implementing services within the business unit portfolios, having end-to-end accountability for customer satisfaction, delivery effectiveness, cost allocations/transparency.
- Functions as a change agent and influence business direction, increase IT business value and simplicity.
- Serve as an advocate of his/her business stakeholders into IT and help evangelize the role of IT and technology back to the business.
- Thought leader who can stimulate innovation, and utilize the autonomy granted to enable process improvements.
- Analyze technology trends and develop technology strategy, architecture, and delivery processes designed for agility and cost effectiveness.
- Provide well-considered counsel to Executive Leadership and other business service leaders on Strategic 2/3-year technology roadmap for Converged Data Services; Network; Telecommunications; Security; Voice integration; Infrastructure As Code; Enterprise Wi-Fi network integration; Managed Services; Software Defined Data Infrastructure; Center; and Software Defined Network.
- Present innovate forward thinking concepts and technology, to improve business processes and increase topline revenue and profitability.
- Strong leadership and negotiating abilities. The ability to lead cross functional project teams in implementing projects of a complex nature. Build consensus and buy in.
- Functional understanding of agile management principles, and their correlation to global teams.
- Participate in IT strategic planning, project planning, and budget planning efforts with business units.
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
- 10 years of advanced management, oversight and delivery excellence of: Converged Data Services (Telecom/Mobility/Data) (VZN, AT&T, etc…), Telecommunications Infrastructure, Call Routing in a Voice Over IP environment, managing Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) – G711, G729…, Network Infrastructure (Architecture, Engineering, Support)
- Ability to see the "big picture" across such areas as private and public hosted infrastructure and services, identity management, security, telecommunications, enterprise WiFi, end user experience, and training/education.
- DevOps, ITIL, Agile and platform process and technology knowledge and experience, with a progressive track record.
- Flexibility to rapidly changing conditions and priorities, and to redirect managers and teams toward new objectives.
- Capable of communicating complex, technical topics to a wide variety of audiences.
- Extensive expertise functioning and succeeding in a bi-modal IT organization.
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- 10+ years of experience and direct management oversight across a diverse spectrum of IT disciplines including: Converged Data Services, Network, Telecommunications, IT Automated Delivery, Infrastructure As Code (IAC)…
- 10+ years of experience in a leadership / management capacity, preferably in a high performing service environment, with quantifiable results.
- 10-15 years’ of experience managing and set strategic direction for delivery of Converged Data Services with Telco Providers, Managed Service Providers globally improving quality while reducing cost.
- Demonstrated success implementing large global Platform Engineering functions (Converged Data Services, Network, Security, Voice integration, enterprise Wi-Fi network integration, SDLC tools & processes and distribution/automation platforms) across a Fortune 100 Company.
- 10+ years of experience coaching, mentoring, guiding and leading a geographically dispersed workforce -must love people!
