Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Technical Product Owner is responsible for developing solutions within digital products at Alaska. As an individual contributor, this role makes recommendations to improve business rules on alaskaair.com, Alaska Airlines app and kiosk machines while providing recommendations to address customer pain points, technical limitations and support vendor relationships. Key Duties Drives Product Delivery - Supports product strategy by partnering with teams to provide a product backlog of features & user stories for use by a Scrum delivery team. - Relentlessly pursues incremental delivery by looking for ways to meet business goals and learn from customers through frequent, measurable enhancements. - Works collaboratively and uses best practices with the delivery team to support backlog refinement. - Manages successfully in ambiguous situations, removes roadblocks, and provides clarity for the delivery teams. Contributes to Product Quality - Provides early analysis of technical capabilities in support of prioritized user stories. - Assists in investigation and resolution of customer issues and defects. - Provides support during system outages or emergency situations including occasional 24x7 on-call duties. Represents and Improves the Product Team - Provides business expertise to Product Managers and Triage Team Members with Sr TPO oversight. - Assists in supporting vendor relationships inclusive of budget spend and service level agreements. - Stays current of e-commerce and aviation industry trends and presents compelling competitive analysis for feature development. Stays current and applies product development and agile delivery practices. Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required - 2 years of experience in business analysis, product ownership, or a related area. - Bachelor's degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree - 3 years of product owner experience working in partnership with a delivery team using Scrum. - Experience influencing cross-functional teams successfully. - Experience using digital analysis tools such as Omniture. - Basic knowledge of web technologies (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, CSS) and service-oriented architectures. - High school diploma or equivalent. - Minimum age of 18. - Authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Experience working directly with web and mobile e-commerce businesses exceeding $1MM in revenue per year. - Experience working as a Technical Product Owner, Technical Product manager, Software Developer - Significant experience working on large CONSUMER e-commerce businesses. - Knowledge of the airline and/or travel industries and related technologies. - Deep working knowledge of lean concepts.
