Job Description:
- Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) Program as a Council Command Center Project Manager responsible for managing and overseeing six councils and a team of Council Administrators and clinical SMEs.
- Work directly with the Council Administrators to identify and apply common best practices and manage the team’s portfolio of risks, actions, and governance requests.
- Troubleshoot issues raised by CMIO Process Re-Engineering (PRE) government team and provide facilitation support for recurring Government CMIO/PRE meetings.
- Maintain the EHR Council Master Roster, Charter, and OEHRM-VHA EHR Council MOU and coordinate with PM counterparts and CC Controller to align delivery, data calls, and reporting.
- Work with Process Reengineering Team and larger CMIO team to align Councils to specific short-term initiatives and act at liaison between Councils and external groups so that information flows in a controlled and timely manner.
- Support regular status reporting, communicating and engaging with stakeholders across the organization.
- Serve as Job Leader for the team, being accountable for managing performance on a day to day basis, including providing actionable feedback, escalating performance and/or behavioral issues, supporting documentation and monitoring of performance goals and Performance Improvement Plans, and approving time reports.
Job Requirements:
Education:
- BA or BS degree in Engineering, CS, Systems, Business or related scientific or technical discipline, or an additional 8 years of experience in a professional work environment in lieu of a degree
Relevant Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in a professional work environment
- 5+ years of experience with project management and well-versed in life cycle and project management methodologies
- Experience with managing Information Technology projects
- Experience in tracking schedule and performance progress
- Experience in the VA or DoD
- Experience with implementing Electronic Health Records
- Experience with clinical direct patient care preferred
Technical Knowledge/ Skills/ Training required:
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks
- Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
