Job Title:            Head of Data, Insights and Advanced Analytics

Reports to:        Director Customer & Data 

 

 

The Role:

The Head of Data, Insights & Advanced Analytics will use data & analytic practices to drive value and actionable insights to address business challenges and provide recommendations. This person will work collaboratively with the other teams (e.g. Marketing, Auto Business units, Central Data and Analytics teams) to support and enable growth for the Automotive division through the use of data and analytics.

 

This role will also be responsible for driving forward our Data Science agenda with a ring-fenced team focussed on the development of analytical solutions/products to help optimise larger-scale Automotive division business opportunities. The right candidate will play a lead role in helping to create our data-first culture which champions the power of insight and Market Intelligence.

 

This role will include developing a Centre of Excellence for Advance Analytics, reporting and customer Insights that will enable data led & insights driven decisions and activity planning.

 

This role will also establish a common measurement framework and toolkit for teams regarding best use of data, campaign analytics and attribution as well as deliver a series of data models that will drive efficiency and automation of processes and reporting.

 

 

Accountabilities:

 

Data & Data Science

  • Own & manage Automotive division Data including Customer Data Strategy, Customer Data Activation and Customer Data Governance
  • Provide leadership on Customer Data projects, showcasing new opportunities to maximise value and building credible relationships with key business teams
  • Ensure team is adhering to Data Retention Policies and in-line with GDPR/PECA, and fully informed on upcoming data legislation and Group policies
  • Ensure strong data governance and controls through data pipelines and workflows that incorporate privacy and security elements.
  • Specify requirements for data capture, data storage, and data visualisation tools; work with AF Group data leads to ensure the Automotive division needs are met
  • Identify appropriate descriptive analytics packages and predictive modelling tools. Drive the implementation and adoption of such tools. Identify systems architecture gaps that are impacting on data capabilities and champion with urgency any required changes
  • Identify data & MI utilisation gaps within the division; design training and processes to fill these gaps
  • Develop training programmes which build and maintain appropriate levels of data literacy across the business
  • Work closely with Digital Marketing & CRM teams to drive new activation channels and strategies
  • Managing resource levels within Customer Data team, ensuring development and retention of analysts

 

 

Advance Analytics, BI & Insights

  • Articulate a clear plan of activities required to improve the way in which we acquire and use data for the Automotive division, with a strong emphasis on bringing data-led ideas to fruition.
  • Develop an insights platform as a central repository for all marketing, sales, and customer analytics.
  • Responsible for Business Intelligence (BI) strategy.
  • Responsible for Automotive market research and recommendations on market improvement plans.
  • Develop a robust Decision Science team and tech to design and offer seamless, relevant, personalized experiences
  • Make recommendations that can enable quick, strategic routes to market to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Demonstrate through example, change projects excellence in data and analytics adoption and facilitate knowledge and skills sharing across the group
  • Build a team that allows the Automotive division to deliver the agreed data & analytics strategy
  • Demonstrate the value of data & advanced analytics as critical assets to the Automotive division.
  • Create appropriate reports on customer acquisition and retention.
  • Develop use-cases (including Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning), focused on optimization that drive cost efficiencies and reduces wastage
  • Create and manage advanced analytics across the Auto group to track performance and develop industry based KPIs

 

 

Marketing Effectiveness and measurement science

  • Experience of managing Marketing Effectiveness strategies & tactics
  • Knowledge of Marketing Mix Modelling / Econometrics, Digital Attribution etc.
  • Exploiting data to improve & personalise complex customer journeys
  • Experience of running test and control programmes or managing test calendars
  • Driving innovation in the measurement space, finding the right tools to measure for the right outcomes.
  • Work closely with Media Strategy, Planning and Media Agencies with ability to translate and influence
  • Analyse, receive and interpret results via multi-touch attribution, market tests, controlled experiments, and ad hoc analyses - test business hypotheses to identify and implement new value propositions
  • The ability to develop best in class measurement framework and reporting
  • Develop use-cases (including Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning), focused on CRO that drive cost efficiencies and reduces advertising wastage.

 

 

Job Context:

The position impacts the organisation by improving data capabilities, data led and insights led business decisioning, Marketing Effectiveness and ongoing business reporting Optimization across the entire Automotive organisation (UAE and Overseas),

 

The incumbent is expected to establish, where practicable, standardised processes, methodologies and procedures that can be applied throughout the Automotive division, while maintaining compliance with the franchise Principals and the Laws unique to the respective countries and conditions applying to the individual Business Units.

 

Also, this position will be a key overall Al-Futtaim group stakeholder and will need to support group wide initiatives

 

 

Qualifications, experience, & skills:

  • Suitable university business qualification (Min Degree level)
  • Senior and experienced data professional with the right blend of hands-on analytics experience, an eye for innovation and experience in the automotive industry
  • Understanding and experience of the principles of advanced data analytics, including in an automotive pricing context
  • Track record of leading data-initiated change projects with the ability to galvanise cross-functional teams behind new ideas with a go-to-market driven approach.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, overcome challenges, manage stakeholder expectations and produce project deliverables
  • Ability to develop new ideas into structured, deliverable proposals and projects that achieve the desired outcome and goals
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a sharp, rigorous and creative approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to communicate compelling arguments and complex concepts to data-minded and non-data-minded individuals alike
  • Inspiring leader who can garner support for new ideas and motivate individuals from a broad spread of backgrounds to embrace data-backed decision making
  • Experience working within the GDPR / PECA framework an advantage

 

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 yrs. Data & Analytics experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of implementing large scale data and analytics optimization and effectiveness programmes
