Advanced Analytics Manager

 

The Role

The purpose of the role is to lead the Advanced Analytics (AA) programme at the Automotive divisional level, acting as the divisions single point of contact. As the Automotive AA lead, the role will be an integral part of a cross-functional team, collaborating with the other stakeholders from the Group Data/ Analytics and IT teams.

 

This role will provide AA program management, use-case definition / implementation, leadership and direction for highly visible, complex data and analytics use-cases that can be implemented across a number of the Automotive brands and functions.

 

This role will provide oversight of the Automotive AA ongoing transformation and use-case implementation across various data and analytics programs. This will include reporting, scheduling, benefits tracking, change and risk management etc. as well as coaching and technical capability building that develops a set of standards/protocols for the Automotive division to ensure that the data science practice is scalable and future-proof.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Automotive Advanced Analytics programs and use-cases
  • Facilitate the creation and approval of complex business cases within the program, and coordinate the sharing of resources among projects (collaborating with the Auto brands and other group stakeholders, such as Data and IT teams)
  • Establish, maintain, and influence program stakeholder relationships, expectations, and communications, both internal and external to the organization
  • Develop a high-level intergraded milestone plan for the program and manage program
  • Execute program plans (quality, risk, communication, staffing, etc.) and capture and communicate program status and data in order to maintain accurate and current program information for the use of stakeholders
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in project and program management, including guiding and mentoring Initiative owners; sourcing and directing contract resources tied to projects within the program; and develop expertise
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagements Update transformation management tools regularly to ensure regular and timely updates through close coordination with transformation leads across the business    
  • Work closely with the head of Insights and Analytics, group Data / IT teams and the Automotive brands, and potentially vendors, to identify analytics opportunities based on a deep understanding of our businesses and their information assets.
  • Lead the delivery of use cases for the Automotive division, by proposing and delivering advanced analytic models, utilizing a blend of contemporary and traditional data mining techniques, applied to both structured and unstructured data sets.
  • This includes, conducting data quality assessments, sharing relevant insights with business stakeholders, creating model monitoring solutions and conducting QA on other data science models (built internally or through 3rd party vendors)
  • Provide guidance, training and coaching to data analysts and the analytics community on analytics frameworks, best practices, and technologies.
  • Support in the development of analytics standards and protocols to ensure scalability and support self-service advanced analytics

  • Define organizational policy and other factors that have a critical impact on the job
  • The position impacts the organisation by creating, defining and implementing high-valued Advanced Analytics use-cases across the entire Automotive organisation (UAE and Overseas).
  • The incumbent is expected to establish themselves as a key interface / stakeholder, with both the Automotive brands and the Group support functions (group IT and Data / Analytics). They will collaborate and, where practicable, standardised processes, methodologies and procedures that can be applied throughout the Automotive division
  • This position will be a key overall Al-Futtaim group stakeholder and will need to support group wide Data and Analytics initiatives

 

 

Qualifications, experience, & skills:

 

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Suitable university business qualification (Degree level or higher)
  • Deep understanding of Advanced Analytics - Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Economics
  • Expert knowledge of program management
  • Candidates who are considered for this role should have demonstrated a high-level of Commercial Acumen, Clear strategic thinking and have the ability to quickly create constituency and influence at a senior level.

 

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of working experience in analytics and data science, covering both technical and program management elements
  • Experience in professional program management, with at least 2 years of large program management experience in data and analytics (preferably advanced analytics)
  • A deep understanding of transformation and analytics (descriptive and advanced), with proven record of delivering business impact through analytics solutions

 

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to self-manage and self-motivate
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, resourcefulness and time management capabilities
  • Proven record of delivering business impact
  • Experience working with data analytics tools and reporting platforms
  • Proven expertise in usage of MS Office Suite and related project management systems (Preferably Microsoft Project Online Professional and JIRA)
  • Expertise on agile methodology or software development life cycle experience in analytics (preferably prior track record of playing the scrum master role)
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP) Certification and/ or Scrum Master Certification preferred
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
