This job is a member of the Security Operations (SecOps) team within the Corporate Security division. SecOps is a critical part of the operational decision-making process within the American Airlines Integrated Operations Center (IOC). SecOps is responsible for ensuring the security of team members, customers, and assets across the network.

What you'll do

• Provide 24/7 security support  
• Assess security incidents for appropriate action
• Meet operational company objectives while complying with regulatory requirements
• Proactively identify security risks
• Execute regulatory watch list procedures

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• ​High School diploma or GED equivalency
• Must be decisive and calm in a demanding operational environment
• Must have clear oral and written communication skills
• Must fluently read, write and speak in English   
• Must be able to work any shift including weekends, holidays, and nights
• Exhibit leadership, professionalism, courtesy and respect
• Excellent problem-resolution skills                   
• Appropriately plan and prioritize multiple responsibilities
• Must be able handle heavy call volume, email and in-person request at once
• Work well in small team environment with minimal supervision              
• Be self-motivated and willing to initiate an action plan related to security
• Self-managed attendance and performance  

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• ​Prior law enforcement or security education/background
• Speak, read, and write in a language other than English
• Airline security background
• Operational Security experience
• GSC, CRO, ISP, ISC, or AIM certification
• Supervisory experience

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

• Ability to be decisive and calm in a demanding operational environment
• Ability to work any shift including weekends and holidays
• Ability to exhibit leadership, professionalism, courtesy and respect
• Skills in problem-resolution
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
